MAGIC MILK 🥛 was full of colour, curiosity and a little bit of magic! ✨

We explored what happens when colourful food dye meets milk and dishwashing liquid. As the colours swirled, danced and moved across the surface, we discovered that science can be both fascinating and fun! 🔬🎨

🧪 What did we learn?

Milk contains different types of fats and proteins.
Food colouring helps us see the movement happening in the milk.
Dishwashing liquid interacts with the fats in the milk, causing the colours to move and spread.
Scientists observe, predict, experiment and ask questions to understand how and why things happen.
Most importantly, we learned that there is science all around us! 🧪

On Wednesday, 2 September 2026, we celebrated Early Educators Day across our services.

At DDHQ Pty Ltd, we are proud to recognise and thank all of our educators, staff, and managers for the incredible dedication, passion, and care they bring each day.

Their knowledge, experience, kindness, and enthusiasm help create nurturing environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Every day, they warmly welcome children into our services and play a vital role in giving them the very best start to their early education journey.

📚✨ Book Week at The Hive Charlestown! ✨📚
Last week, we celebrated our love of books, stories and reading with a wonderful week full of imagination and creativity! 🌟

Our children shared their favourite stories, dressed up as a variety of characters, and connected through a shared love of books. 📖💛

We also worked together to create cardboard cut-outs for a special live-action retelling of The Gruffalo! 🐭🌳

Our preschoolers did a fantastic job bringing the story to life for the whole centre, taking us on an adventure through the deep, dark wood with the little brown mouse. 🦊🐍🦉

What a wonderful way to celebrate the magic of storytelling, teamwork and imagination! 🌈📚

🐾 SHE’S BACK! 🐾

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome our favourite four-legged team member, Ziggy, back to school!

After taking some time off to fully recover from a non-work-related injury, Ziggy has officially resumed her duties. She is feeling great, full of tail wags, and so excited to see all of her human friends again. ❤️

To make sure she transitions smoothly, Ziggy is easing back into her routine and has restarted her weekly therapy dog training. This training ensures she will be fully prepared and to engage with the children regularly throughout the school day.Please join us in giving Ziggy a massive “welcome back” cheer! 🐕

The purpose of setting up meaningful experiences in childcare is to support each child’s learning, development, wellbeing, and sense of belonging through activities that are relevant, engaging, and based on their interests, strengths, and individual needs. This experience was purely set up from verbal communication between a child and educator! It’s as simple as a child saying they ate donuts on the weekend! You can see the little hands in action learning how to spread and pour toppings on!

-coloured rice
