Clean Up Australia Day is on this weekend, Sunday 1st of March. Join Cubberla-Witton Catchments Network and the local community to clean up around Cubberla Creek.

🌿 Join our Clean Up of Cubberla Creek from Boblynne St to Akuna Oval, the Kenmore Plaza area, and streets in those vicinities.

⏰ We’re having a Clean Up on Sunday, 1 March, 8-11am to help clean up around Cubberla Creek and we’d love you to join us.

📍 Ampol Service Station on the corner of Marshall Lane and Moggill Rd Kenmore.

🥾 Closed shoes, and a hat, and you're all set! It’s a great chance to have some friendly conversations while cleaning up our environment.

We are feeling overjoyed at the immense generosity and caring that the children, families and staff showed by donating gifts for our two charities at our annual family Christmas party this past weekend.

We have amazing items to share between Belong Community and Village Tails.

Thank you to everyone who has donated.
We look forward to sharing some joy with those who need it in the upcoming festive season.
We very much appreciate the community of our beautiful kindergarten, and we are very proud of our kindergarten children for thinking of others and caring about the community around them.

Hey Kupi, Balimber, Mabi and Bilin families, head to Kupi Park in Karana Downs to see the fireflies!

Each year as Spring approaches, the Lions Brisbane West Nature Trail at Kupi Park, Karana Downs comes to life at twilight time with fireflies seeking to mate.

The Trail lights up (literally) and for the few weeks this occurs, it has become a popular natural occurrence for locals to witness.

Help us to look after this natural wonder by following the best practise guidelines:

🪰 limit using your torch, where safe to do so, to prevent disrupting firefly behaviour
🪰 Use a low-light torch, or a torch covered with red or yellow cellophane
🪰Stay on walking tracks to prevent trampling Firefly habitat
🪰You may be lucky enough to have a firefly land on you but please do not try to chase or catch the fireflies
🪰 Do not pick up fireflies off the ground

We have produced signage to highlight these key messages which will be placed at appropriate locations at Kupi Park in the coming day. It was a pleasure to hand them over to the Lions Club which maintains the trail and our Council officer who assists them.
