Salesian College Chadstone 1961-66

Just heard that Fr. Julian Cavarzan just died. He was resident in aged care back in Italy. He was 91.
He was just ordained when he started at Chaddy. A big personality who also was a key figure in the Clayton Italian community. Known for his fiery disposition.

I remember him charging around a crowded quadrangle, cassock and all, dominating a soccer match. How he didn't collide and kill some kid is a miracle.
He was a passionate St. Kilda fan and won stacks of Wrigley chewing gum sticks from us when the Saints won the flag in '66.
A flamboyant typical Italian who certainly made life interesting! Vale!
