🎨 Celebrating 100 Years Through Art ✨

3/4E has been busy creating artwork inspired by the history of Nulkaba Public School!

Students have been developing their drawing skills using both tracing and freehand techniques, before experimenting with watercolours to create their desired effects.

They have shown fantastic patience, care and creativity, working hard to produce high-quality pieces they can be proud of. We can’t wait to share their finished artworks with you as part of our 100-year celebrations! ❤️💚

🐝 Premier’s Spelling Bee Regional Finals 🐝

A huge congratulations to Adella and Poppy, who proudly represented Nulkaba Public School at the Regional Finals of the Premier’s Spelling Bee!

Competing against students from across the region, both girls demonstrated fantastic spelling skills, confidence and determination. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school and gave it their very best.

🏐 PSSA Netball – Quarter Final Win! ❤️💚

Congratulations to our PSSA Netball team on an exciting one-point win against Singleton Public School in the Quarter Final! 👏

Both teams played fantastic netball in challenging conditions, with strong wind gusts making passing and shooting difficult. Singleton maintained excellent defensive pressure throughout the game, but our team showed great determination to secure the win 13–12.

A big thank you to Cessnock Netball Association for allowing us to use their facilities and to our wonderful families for transporting and supporting our students.

Well done, team, and good luck in the next round! 🏐🌟

🧢 Beanies for Brain Cancer 🧠

Our school was filled with beanies as students and staff came together to support Beanies for Brain Cancer.

It was wonderful to see our school community getting involved, wearing their favourite beanies and helping to raise funds for an important cause.

🎉 100 Days of Kindergarten! 💯

Our Kindergarten students celebrated a very special milestone last week – 100 days of school!

To mark the occasion, students enjoyed a fun-filled day of activities, including lawn bowls, high tea and bingo, as well as creating some very entertaining pictures of what they think they might look like when they are 100 years old! 👵👴

It was a wonderful day celebrating just how much our Kindergarten students have learned, grown and achieved in their first 100 days of school.

📚 Community Access at Cessnock City Library!

ILH students enjoyed a fantastic community access visit to Cessnock City Library this week, with many students catching the public bus from school! 🚌

Students listened to a story, sang songs, explored the library and enjoyed playdough and craft activities. One group also visited Dan Repacholi’s office, learning more about his role in the local community.

A wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, independence and important life skills while connecting with the wider community. 💚❤️

Working in small groups, students planned scenes, designed sets and characters, and captured a series of photos to create their own animated stories.

🖤💛❤️ Learning, Connecting and Celebrating Culture 🖤💛❤️

KE has been exploring and celebrating Aboriginal culture throughout the year, embedding meaningful learning experiences into everyday classroom activities.

From Indigenous stories and Auslan to creating artworks inspired by Aboriginal symbols, campfire yarns and designing their own rock wall symbols, students have been learning about storytelling, connection, respect and belonging.

This week, students also enjoyed delicious lemon myrtle pancakes, experiencing the flavours of native Australian ingredients.

These experiences continue to build students’ appreciation and understanding of the rich cultures, histories and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. 🖤💛❤️
