This week we celebrate and recognise our incredible SASS staff and the many ways they support our students, staff and school community each and every day.

FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST💙

What a wonderful morning celebrating all the amazing Dads, Grandfathers and father figures in our school community at our Father’s Day Breakfast. It was fantastic to see so many families sharing a special morning together.

A huge thank you to our incredible Caves Beach Public School P&C for organising and making the breakfast happen. Your time, effort and generosity are truly appreciated.

ZONE DEBATING CHAMPIONS🥳🎉

Congratulations to our Caves Beach Sharks who are officially the Zone Champions in the NSW Premiers Debating Competition!

Nina, Mila, Oliver and Grace have worked consistently to hone their debating skills to reach the Regional level as the undefeated winners!

Nina, our first speaker, dazzles the audience with her engaging introductions, clever definitions and brilliant public speaking skills.
Mila, our second speaker, proves that nothing gets past her! She cleverly weaves her arguments into captivating lessons that leaves her audience convinced.
Oliver, our third speaker, is the King of Rebuttals. He can find the logical flaw in any argument and hold the opposing team accountable for everything they say!
Grace, our fourth speaker, is the brains trust of the group. Writing quickly, on the spot, to add to arguments and rebuttals to help her speakers bring home the win!

Well done to a great group of debaters and good luck as they move into the Regional Knockout Competition!

NEW CPBS UMBRELLAS ☔️

A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C for purchasing new umbrellas for our school.

They certainly came in handy during last week’s intermittent rain and were a very welcome addition to afternoon pick-up duty, helping keep our staff dry while safely directing students to the various exits around the school.

We are incredibly grateful for the Caves Beach Public School P&C’s continued generosity and support in making our school such a wonderful place to learn, work and belong.

Some of our amazing Kindergarten students visited Mrs Tia this week to proudly share their wonderful work!

In class, they have been learning about the ‘sh’ sound and used words they had brainstormed together to create some fantastic descriptive sentences.

We are so proud of the confident writers they are becoming and their growing ability to get their creative ideas written down. Keep up the wonderful work!

EXCHANGE PROGRAM 🌎

Exciting Collaboration Harvests Intercultural Dialogue and Grows Engagement (EXCHANGE) 🌱

Yesterday, we were delighted to participate in our sixth EXCHANGE session with PSBB Chennai, India.

Stage 3 students from Caves Beach Public School and members of the Environmental Club at PSBB Chennai had the incredible opportunity to hear from Professor Matt Hayward from the University of Newcastle, one of the world’s leading lion researchers.

Professor Hayward shared his journey as a conservation scientist and discussed the importance of protecting biodiversity. He spoke about tiger conservation in India, lions in Africa, and the work being undertaken to protect threatened Australian animals, including numbats and bilbies.

The informative question-and-answer session highlighted Professor Hayward’s extensive knowledge and passion for wildlife conservation.

We look forward to Session 2, when students from both schools will share their own presentations and continue this wonderful intercultural learning experience.
