📱💻 As classrooms embrace digital tools, one-to-one computers, and voice-to-text technology, the role of traditional handwriting ✍️ is fading.

While typing is faster and more efficient, 🧠 research reveals that handwriting has unique benefits for the brain!

Educators, it’s time to rethink how we shape learning experiences—handwriting still matters! 🖋️✨

VISION THERAPY FOR READING, SPELLING AND WRITING DIFFICULTIES.

As a parent, it’s frustrating to see vision therapy pushed as a solution for dyslexia when the real issue is poor reading instruction.

Schools that promote it shift the blame onto children and parents, making it seem like the problem lies with their eyesight rather than the way they’re being taught.

It’s not a quick fix—it’s a costly distraction that delays the right support. Reading, spelling, and writing must be taught properly at school using evidence-based instruction.

It is unethical for schools to suggest vision therapy for a literacy difficulty, as it misleads families and diverts attention from the real solution—effective teaching at school.

"Overwhelmingly the research shows no benefit from this treatment in children with reading difficulties and vulnerable parents are being exploited and having their children subjected to unnecessary screening practices." RANZCO

Struggling with reading comprehension? Let's break it down!

If a student is having difficulty with comprehension, the issue might not be comprehension itself—it could be something deeper in the reading process.

✅ Poor comprehension? Focus on fluency.
✅ Poor fluency? Strengthen word recognition.
✅ Poor word recognition? Revisit phonics and decoding.
✅ Poor phonics and decoding? Go back to phonemic awareness.

Building strong readers means ensuring each foundational skill is solid before moving forward. A step back can be a step toward success!
