Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star 🌟 It's a true classic and one that most of us remember from our childhood. And while we wish we had a video with audio to share, this picture is the next best thing.

It shows one of our prep students hard at work, matching the musical bells to the musical notes and reading those notes all by herself. Just look at the concentration on her face 🙇🏻‍♀️ 🎶

She's worked hard to develop these skills, and is now able to play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star on the musical bells, entirely on her own. What an achievement!

In our Cycle 2 classrooms, Years 1 to 3 students stay with the same teacher for three years, building real trust and room to grow.

With that consistency comes more freedom and more responsibility as children learn to manage their own time and follow through on their work.

We love watching it in action – check out our latest video!

Today's graduates could hold 17 jobs across 5 industries in their lifetime. The question we need to ask ourselves is, are they ready?

At MMC, we don't just prepare students to study. We prepare them to work. Through VCE VM, real workplace learning starts well before graduation.

Our VCE VM and Career Pathways Leader, Tanya Marty, shares how we're building future ready graduates in her latest article.

The world of work is constantly changing, as is the pathway for creating future ready graduates. It's dynamic and ever changing!

Every morning, our youngest learners walk into their classroom and choose their own work.

It might be practical life skills, geometry, language work or maths to name a few. But the important thing to note is that each child follows their own interests, at their own pace, under the watchful eye of our Montessori educators.

It’s incredible to see - watch the video to find out more about our 3 and 3 year old Kinder and prep classrooms!

Studying a second language is a requirement to complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), and at MMC, our students can choose between Spanish and Mandarin.

To complement this, our Year 11 and 12 Spanish IB students were lucky enough to experience the immersive Machu Picchu exhibition in the city, listening to the full commentary in Spanish.

Feeling a little peckish after a full morning of learning, their next stop was a Colombian restaurant, where they ordered their meals in Spanish. From there, they worked together on an oral practice session to revise upcoming IB exam questions.

This full day of immersion made a real difference to our students' spoken and listening skills, as well as enriching their understanding of Hispanic culture.

What a great day out!

This Cycle 2 (Years 1, 2 and 3) student is busy working with the Short Bead Frame, a Montessori material that teaches children addition, subtraction and multiplication. Every ten beads is swapped for one bead up the ladder (units become tens, tens become hundreds), so counting turns into real maths one bead at a time (no calculator required).

A genuinely interactive and engaging way to learn some serious mathematical concepts. 🧮

Connecting the season to seasonal produce and to cooking a recipe suited to that produce, is just one of the fun things our Bulen-Bulen classroom (3 and 4-year-old Kinder and Prep) has been up to lately.

Making the most of the cooler weather means enjoying warming meals, and the children loved the opportunity to get into the kitchen. And who wouldn’t?!

They brought potatoes in from home, which they used to make roast potatoes to enjoy together for lunch. From peeling to cutting and seasoning, they did it all.

Some of our older children have also been deepening their understanding of the seasons through Australian seasonal poetry, practising their favourites, writing them out and adding their own illustrations.

Practical life, literacy, art, botany and science, all linked together.

When the opportunity for some of our Years 4-6 students to join the 2026 i sea i care program came up, facilitated by the Dolphin Research Institute, they snapped it up.

This year-long program empowers a small group of students to become environmental champions. Through workshops covering different aspects of our marine environment, students take their learnings, skills and observations back to school, and share this knowledge with their peers.

What a great way to build sustainable behaviour and culture at the College!

The program kicked off with a snorkelling in Sorrento, where our ambassadors were lucky enough to swim with seals, dolphins, sea dragons and fish.

What an adventure!
