Early childhood services have a responsibility to children, families and communities to support breastfeeding. As a breastfeeding mother, I understand how challenging it can be to continue feeding when there is a lack of support from the community. I aim to make my service breastfeeding-friendly and welcome expressed milk or feeding visits regardless of children’s age.

Children in my service naturally gravitate to my young baby and express curiosity when she is feeding. There are so many ways we can promote health in early childhood and this is a great example of one ❤️

These past few weeks the children have been exploring light. It began when they noticed the beautiful patterns our magnetic tiles displayed on the ceiling. We extended on this by exploring a projector light with different galaxy slides 🌌

This week, we have a light table set up to continue the children’s interests. 💡 ⭐️💫🌟

🐅🦁🍃Outdoor and sensory play is so beneficial for children. Being outdoors is a natural stress relief, reducing anxiety and promoting emotional well-being. Children are able to develop an appreciation and respect for nature. Sensory play allows a range of learning to take place, development of fine motor skills, encourages curiosity and builds concentration. Sensory play is also open-ended meaning there is no desired outcome. When children engage in open-ended experiences, it takes the pressure off! Does your child enjoy outdoor or sensory play? 🍃🦁🐅

The weather is cooling down but that doesn't mean outdoor play needs to stop! Did you know children should engage in outdoor play no matter the season? Even if it is wet, even if it is cold!

✨What makes Tucked Away Family Day Care different?✨

🙋‍♀️ Experienced and passionate educator: I have been working in early childhood education for over 5 years. I have most recently worked in a community preschool with children aged 3-5 years.

🎓Commitment to professional development and life-long learning: In 2019, I completed a Certificate lll in Early Childhood Education and Care, and in 2021 I upgraded that to a Diploma. In 2024, I will complete a Bachelor of Education (Birth to Five Years) making me a soon-to-be fully qualified teacher!! 🥳

🪴Beautiful yard with a rainforest feel: Children will love spending time connecting with nature in the daycares outdoor green space. Enjoy real grass, sunshine and natural elements of the world!

📚 Literacy Program: Books are the heart of our program. Get excited about reading! Children will be consistently exposed to diverse texts and illustrations to encourage emergent literacy skills.

🤝Community experiences: It takes a village! Regular visits to local parks, playgroups and libraries. Children will build on their sense of belonging and learn about their community.
