As part of our 90 Year celebrations, Oakhill held a Recreate a Past Photo Competition and our Tutor Groups rose to the challenge!

The creativity and effort on display were outstanding, with staff and students going above and beyond to recreate original images. From carefully chosen locations to clever props and impressive attention to detail, the response was fantastic.

Entries were judged across three categories: Best Overall Recreation, Most Accurate Lookalike and Most Creative Interpretation. Winners are announced in our Newsletter: https://www.oakhill.nsw.edu.au/community/newsletter

A great example of community spirit and a willingness to get involved.

This week, Oakhill was privileged to attend the Young Lasallians Evening at Holy Spirit Catholic College, Lakemba. Senior students from De La Salle schools across Sydney came together in a shared mission, centred on the theme Social Justice - Beyond Left and Right.

In a time when conversations around justice can feel divided, the evening challenged students to look deeper, grounding their understanding in dignity, compassion and our Lasallian heritage.

Oakhill students were invited to reflect on the role they can play in responding to social justice issues with courage, purpose and empathy. The challenges are significant, but our shared values continue to guide and inspire meaningful action in a world that needs it.

Oakhill College took centre stage recently hosting the Improv Australia Theatresports Schools Challenge - Senior Heat. With five outstanding schools battling it out for a coveted Semi Final spot, the night delivered a thrilling showcase of lightning fast creativity, razor sharp wit and fearless collaboration.

From the very first round, the competition was fierce, with Oakhill locked in a gripping three way tie alongside Arden and William Clarke. Round Two saw the intensity rise as rivals surged forward, nudging Oakhill into third place as the leaders began to pull away. Undeterred, Oakhill responded with a strong technical performance in Round Three, earning top marks for technique and saving their most impressive score for the final round.

While the team remained in third place, their consistency, resilience and confident stage presence paid off, securing them a well-deserved place in the semi-finals.

Oakhill was blessed with sunshine and an outstanding turnout for our P&F Gala Day on Saturday.

It was great to see such a strong involvement from across our community, with staff, alumni, students, parents and friends all contributing to the day. The sense of pride and connection across the College was evident.

Congratulations to Stephanie Rae (Year 7 family) who won the 2026 Hyundai Venue QX.V5.

A sincere thank you to our P&F Committee for the months of planning behind the scenes to ensure a seamless event, and to P&F President, Jenny Woodward for her dedication in bringing it all together. Final figures are still being counted, but we have raised substantial funds to support improvements to furniture and facilities across the College.

Of course the day wouldn't be possible without our sponsors and we thank them for their generosity:
