Next demo : Janelle Hatherly « Portrait using Zorn Palette »
Wed. 6th May at 7pm.

Janelle Hatherly will give a talk and demonstration on two useful techniques for simplifying the process of painting portraits in oils: the limited palette using only four colours as createdby Anders Zorn, and the Asaro Head: a useful 3D model for understanding overall planes of
the head and the effects of light on faces. Very interesting for all our portrait artists !

Hiren will explain his process of layering paint to achieve a finished painting that is expressive, with mood and atmosphere. He will also show how to use the refrence image to create your own style of painting.

First demo of the year: RUHULLAH NAQSHBANDI
”Portrait from Life in Oils » on Wed 4th February at 7pm.

Ruhullah will show how to paint a portrait from life from beginning to end, revealing his skilful technique and thoughtful colour palette choice. He is known for his expressive portraits that beautifully capture
personality and spirit. A must to watch!

Happy New Year to all our members, let it be a very creative year, full of art, inspiration to paint and beautiful exhibitions !

To start the year, please be informed that the 34th Art of Sydney Awards organised by the Combined Art Societies of Sydney (CASS) is happening in a few days time at the St George Motor Boat Club at Sans Souci.
The Opening night is on Tuesday 3rd February 6pm, all welcome. Several members of Castle Hill Art Society have artworks in this award.
