Namahshivaya,
1. AAAS plans to start face-to-face classes for all children (4-17 years) in February 2026.
2. Classes will cover lessons in chanting, devotional singing, scriptural studies and Sanskrit linguistics.
3. Virtual Sanskrit classes will be conducted weekly on Thursdays from 7:00 PM Melbourne time onwards, and Chanting classes will be conducted weekly on Saturdays from 6:30 PM Melbourne time .

🌟 Australia Celebrates Amma’s Infinite Love, Compassion & Wisdom 🌟

With heartfelt stops in Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide, Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri inspired everyone as a true messenger of Amma’s timeless teachings. Though 9,000 km away from Amritapuri, Amma’s divine presence was deeply felt in every heart. 💖

A special highlight of the tour was the grand opening of Melbourne Ashram’s newly renovated Amrita Hall and the launch of the vibrant Amrita Café. 🙏

We were also blessed to use these joyful occasions to distribute certificates to our amazing AAAS students. A huge thank you to Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri, Sonya Kilkenny, and Swami Atmananda Puri for their support.

And of course, our deepest gratitude to the wonderful parents and teachers —without your support, none of this would have been possible. 🌺

Amrita Academy of Arts and Spirituality AAAS , started the Sydney Chapter in 2023 following the foundation laid by the Melbourne Chapter few years ago. What started as a conversation, today, has a small number of eight eager children between the ages of 5 and 11 years, attending weekly Online Chanting & monthly Scripture classes.

Amma's teaching on How to look after children - "The first thing parents should attend to is the character of their children. They should teach them good behaviour, and this means instructing them in spiritual matters. The parents should tell their children stories that teach moral principles, and they should train them to do japa and meditation. By doing sadhana (spiritual practices), the intelligence and memory of the child will greatly improve. They will also be well behaved. They will progress spiritually and will also be materially successful in life."

Drawing on this philosophy, the program is designed to inspire children to become spiritually aware at a young age. This is done through storytelling and creative art making based on the rich heritage of Hindu Mythological stories and the symbolic significance of the various characters, their virtues and morals.
