There’s always something happening in our classrooms!
This week, our Waraba students have been putting their imaginations to work, creating and sharing their own imaginative stories. In Balabalaa, students have been learning through hands-on sensory experiences that encourage curiosity, exploration and engagement. We love seeing our students engaged in meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, creativity and a love of learning.

What an amazing Week 5 it has been at Walhallow Public School! We celebrated Book Week with students dressing up as their favourite book characters, taking part in a book scavenger hunt and enjoying a range of fun activities together. Our Waraba class enjoyed an exciting excursion to AgQuip in Gunnedah, exploring the displays, machinery and experiences on offer. Our Balabala class has also been busy engaging in hands-on learning, building their confidence and skills in numbers. To finish off the week, Waraba partnered with the Walhallow Land Council Youth Centre for a special class reward after reaching their positive behaviour goal. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their efforts while connecting with a valued space in our local community. What a fantastic week of learning, new experiences and celebration at Walhallow Public School!

It has been another busy and exciting week at Walhallow Public School! Throughout Week 4, students have continued to build their skills in reading, writing and mathematics, while also enjoying hands-on Science investigations exploring the force of magnetisnm. On Thursday, we also welcomed our Speech and Occupational Therapists from Fly2Health for their fortnightly visit. It has been wonderful to see the growth students are making as they work towards their individual goals.A huge congratulations to Kyeema, who proudly represented Walhallow Public School at the Zone Athletics Carnival in Tamworth. Kyeema has qualified for the girls' relay team at the Regional Athletics Carnival in September! Another fantastic week of learning and achievement at Walhallow Public School

What a fantastic first three weeks it has been at Walhallow Public School! Our students have embraced a wide range of engaging learning experiences, from regular tennis lessons and explicit phonics instruction to cooking with Mrs Cronin, painting in Creative Arts, and investigating push and pull forces in Science.
It has also been wonderful to see our students beginning to view themselves as authors as they develop their writing skills and create imaginative stories. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and effort shown by every student. At Walhallow Public School, we remain committed to providing high-quality educational experiences that inspire a genuine love of learning.

That's a wrap for Term 2, 2026! What an amazing way to finish the term! We kicked off our NAIDOC Week celebrations by welcoming more than 100 students to Walhallow Public School visiting from Quirindi Public School, Werris Creek Public School, Spring Ridge Public School, Blackville Public School, Premer Public School, Willow Tree Public School and Wallabadah Public School. Our Years 3-6 students enjoyed a fantastic day of OzTag, while our K-2 students took part in traditional cultural games and activities. We also enjoyed attending the Small Schools Athletics Carnival and were fortunate to learn from our local Aboriginal Rangers following a cultural burn near our school. Our students gained valuable hands-on knowledge about the importance of cultural burning and caring for Country. To finish the term, we celebrated our students' fantastic attendance with hot chips and a visit to the new Walhallow Youth Centre. We are incredibly proud of all our students and everything they have achieved this term. A huge thank you to Walhallow Aboriginal Corporation - Walhealth for their ongoing support and delivering their healthy eating program. We wish all our students, families and community a safe and relaxing holiday and look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday, the 21st of July!

Over the past two weeks, our students have enjoyed many wonderful learning opportunities at Walhallow Public School. This week, our Balabalaa class had a fantastic excursion to the park in Gunnedah, where they explored the exciting playground equipment before enjoying hot chips for lunch. Our Waraba class has been busy developing their tennis skills, showing great enthusiasm and improving their confidence each week. Reading continues to be a key focus across the school, with students participating in daily reading practice. It has been wonderful to see the strong progress they are making towards their individual reading goals. We are incredibly proud of the positive learning culture at Walhallow Public School. Our classrooms are filled with bright, enthusiastic students who come to school every day ready to learn and celebrate their successes.

As Week 8 comes to a close, we are incredibly proud of our students for their excellent attendance, positive attitude towards learning and ongoing commitment to doing their best each day.
This week, students have been developing their informative writing skills in PDH, while also creating some amazing scratch art masterpieces. On Wednesday we enjoyed a delicious lunch of chicken burgers thanks to the support of Walhallow Aboriginal Corporation - Walhealth and their Healthy Eating Program. Experiences like these help our students learn about healthy food choices while bringing our school community together. Well done to all our students on another fantastic week of learning and achievement at Walhallow Public School!

It has been another busy and exciting week at school, with plenty of opportunities for our students to learn and connect with each other. This week, we welcomed our Speech and Occupational Therapists from Fly2Health for their fortnightly visit, providing ongoing support to several of our students as they work towards their individual learning and development goals. On Thursday morning, students enjoyed a special pancake breakfast to celebrate and recognise their excellent attendance. It was a wonderful way to start the day and highlight the importance of being at school each day, ready to learn. Today was also particularly exciting as we took our new school bus on its first excursion! Students travelled to the Gunnedah Civic Theatre to watch Junkyard Beats: The Box Show. The energetic and creative performance had students engaged from start to finish, with plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the show. We are incredibly proud of the way our students have represented our school throughout this week!

It is a pleasure to work and learn alongside our students at Walhallow Public School each day. Week 6 has been filled with exciting learning opportunities and our students continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to their learning. Each morning, they engage enthusiastically in reading and writing activities, building important skills and confidence. This week, we had the privilege of celebrating Uncle Ray's birthday with a special surprise. Supported by our AEO, Ms Zoe, students sang Happy Birthday in Gamilaraay and then in English, creating a memorable and meaningful moment for everyone involved. We were also thrilled to receive our new school bus! This exciting addition will provide greater access to academic, cultural, social, and sporting opportunities for our students, helping us connect with experiences beyond our school grounds. We are incredibly proud of our students and the enthusiasm, respect and commitment they bring to learning every day.

Another fantastic week at Walhallow Public School.

Our school attendance continues to improve, with students coming to school every day ready to learn, strengthening friendships and having fun together. This week, students enjoyed making curried sausages with Mrs Crowin, practising high jump, shot put and discus in preparation for our Small Schools Athletics Carnival, while also celebrating Olsen’s birthday as a school community. We also appreciate working with our Speech and Occupational Therapists from Fly2Health to support our students and then coming together last night for a community BBQ, slushies, popcorn and a movie.

We are incredibly proud of all of our students for their enthusiasm, positive attitudes and commitment to learning each and every day. Thank you to our families and community for supporting our students in their engagement at school.
