Today we are spotlighting a fantastic GEC student achievement. Recently Adama (7A) won the State Title Road Race in Phillip Island 🥇🥳 He has now advanced to the National Junior Road Series in Queensland next month. Well done Adama for this amazing result, and we look forward to cheering you in September! 🚲

Over the weekend GEC had some fantastic results at the RoboCup Junior Melbourne Regional Competition. Massive congratulations to Jesse Machalek, who placed first in Secondary Rescue Line; Skanda Madapura Guruprasad, who placed first in Mighty Maisie Maze Rescue; and Oscar Want and Alex Ng, who placed first in Standard League Soccer.

We could not be prouder of these results and wish everyone the best of luck for the state competition in six weeks time! 🤖⭐🥇

Our International Student Program (ISP) students enjoyed a special lunchtime celebration, sharing delicious dishes from their home cultures with teachers and friends. The menu featured fresh Mauritian Fried Noodles, Chinese Noodles, and Japanese Udon, all lovingly prepared and served by our students.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity, build connections, and enjoy great food together. Thank you to all the students and staff who made this event so memorable! 🌏🍜

On Tuesday, we proudly celebrated the official opening of Bulukuyt, our new Senior Learning Building—a significant milestone in the history of Glen Eira College.
We were honoured to welcome Ryan Batchelor MP, Member for Southern Metropolitan Region, along with distinguished guests, School Council members, staff, students and members of our community to celebrate this exciting occasion.

Bulukuyt provides contemporary learning spaces designed to inspire collaboration, creativity and excellence, ensuring our students have outstanding facilities to support their learning today and their aspirations for the future.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Victorian Government, our School Council, Kerstin Thompson Architects, Case Meallin (Project Managers), DEVCO Builders, and everyone who contributed to bringing this incredible project to life.
Bulukuyt represents more than a new building—it is an investment in the future of our students and a place where they will continue to learn, grow and connect for many years to come.

Dear families, I'd like to share a simple method of finding out how to access food support in your local residential area or within close proximity.

Step 1: go to foodbank.org.au/find-food

Step 2: Search your suburb or postcode

Step 3: Choose the type of food you need - "Food and groceries to prepare" or "Meals prepared on site"

Step 4: Choose a service from the list to find more information.

Home Food Packs available at GEC
The generous support of Foodbank Victoria continues to be the backbone of the success of the GEC Breakfast Club, providing much needed breakfast food items and healthy snacks for GEC students. Home Food Packs are available to pick up from Glen Eira College, providing breakfast food items.
If you would like a Home Food Pack for each child, please let us know on 9571 7838 so that you can collect from the General Office.
