Carnarvon Community College

Carnarvon Community College Growing Excellence Together Our motto: Growing Excellence Together, highlights some of the foundational aspects of our College.

Carnarvon Community College is proud to be an Independent Public School serving students and familes of all ages across the entire town of Carnarvon. In mid-2019 we amalgamated as a single site school and opened our new state of the art facilities, ushering in a new era of education in Carnarvon where we will strive to produce the best possible academic outcomes for your child. Firstly our commitm

ent to continuous improvement and growth. Secondly our pursuit of excellence and the high expectations we have for our students. Finally the importance of us all working together to ensure every CCC student, is a successful student. Our College is committed to becoming a leader in education in Western Australia. We want to be known as not only the school of choice in Carnarvon, but a school that is recognised throughout the state as leader in teaching practice. As a College we are committed to the Health and Wellbeing of our entire community as well developing exceptional instructional practice in our staff. We acknowledge that a strong Literacy foundation is key to future success in school and life, and so are heavily invested in delivering best practice in the teaching of Literacy throughout our school. Our K through 12 offerings are supplemented by our outstanding KindiLink program targeting 0 – 3 year olds and their parents. We are also supported directly on site by our Clontarf Academy and the Shooting Stars program for girls. In addition to this, aspirant Aboriginal students are able to access additional academic support through our Follow the Dream academy. Further offerings include our College Band, the Bushrangers program and the Performing Arts expertise provide by the Australian Girls Choir through the Girls from Oz. We explicitly teach our students social skills so they can demonstrate our values of Unity, Respect and Success. We are a proud Positive Behaviour Support school. Our College delivers a curriculum founded on the belief that every student can enjoy success at school and deserves the best possible opportunity to do so. Our Senior Secondary offerings include 3 pathways with a variety of offerings within. For our ATAR students we offer a small selection of Face to Face courses and the full range of offerings through SIDE supported on site by our Independent Learning Coordinator. For General WACE pathway students we offer a range of both Courses of Study and VET qualifications to support them in achieving their WACE. We also have a Flexible Learning Pathway, headed up by our Work Ready program that targets students outside of the WACE pathway and improving employability and opportunities for them.

HASS Excursion to Gwoonwardu Mia

This term, our HASS students from Pre-Primary to Year 3 enjoyed an exciting excursion to Gwoonwardu Mia to learn about the fascinating burrowing bees found in our local area.πŸπŸ’™

Students then had the opportunity to go on Country with Toni Roe, where they observed the bees in their natural habitat and gained a deeper understanding of their importance to the environment and local Aboriginal knowledge. 🏜

It was a valuable hands-on learning experience that helped students connect classroom learning with the natural world. 🫢
