Meet Yuki. After completing Certificate III in Commercial Cookery at Milestones International College in 2024, Yuki is now working as a commercial cook.

Reflecting on her time at Milestones, Yuki said “Studying at Milestones helped me build confidence in the kitchen. The practical training, trainer support and clear explanations helped me understand how to apply what I was learning. I also enjoyed learning with my classmates and becoming more comfortable in a real kitchen environment. To new students, I would say: don’t be nervous. Ask questions, participate in class and use the support available to you. Every student’s journey is different, but you can build your skills step by step.”

Our weekly job club students recently participated in a free Resume Writing Workshop as part of our ongoing student support and employability skills activities.

The session helped students understand how to present their skills, experience and training more clearly when preparing for future work opportunities in Australia.

From classroom learning to workplace readiness, activities like this help students take practical steps towards their next chapter with more confidence, clearer communication and a better understanding of what employers may look for.

It was great to see students asking questions, sharing ideas and actively preparing for their future journey.
