The CO.AS.IT. Italian Language Assistants have arrived! 🇮🇹
We are so thrilled to have welcomed 20 language assistants from across Italy to CO.AS.IT. Melbourne this week for their induction into the program.
This fantastic group hit the ground running through the jetlag, navigating the paperwork, cracking the treasure hunt, soaking up sessions from teachers and past assistants and so much more.
And they’re only just getting started.
Next week they’ll be stepping into Melbourne Museum’s breathtaking ROME exhibition to train as Italian language tour guides, before heading off to schools across Victoria for eight months to assist in the teaching of Italian.
If you see them in your local school, make sure to say hi!
Benvenuti, ragazzi!

Last night we hosted our first Italian Dinner.
23 past CO.AS.IT VCE students came together to mark the end of their school Italian journey, but the connection to language and culture doesn’t stop there.
Our Next Gen program gives young people who are Italian, Italian Australian, or simply love Italy a space to stay involved in the community beyond the classroom, through social events, new friendships, and shared experiences.
Last night was the first of many, and we’re already planning what comes next based on what the group told us they want to see.
Thank you to the team at Di Stasio, Carlton for their hospitality, and to everyone who joined us 🇮🇹
