Introducing Slinky: a 5kN metal 3d printed, liquid bipropellant rocket engine developed as part of an ARES Capstone Project. The engine utilises liquid oxygen (LOX) and isopropyl (IPA) as propellants, and has integrated fuel cooling channels inside the chamber walls for regenerative cooling. Slinky is additively manufactured out of CuCr1Zr (a copper alloy) in partnership with the CSIRO. Special thanks as well to Jimmy MCHND Pty Ltd for post-machining the sealing surfaces. The team is over in the UK preparing to test the engine at , an international propulsion competition, livestream coming in a few hours!
