He is a journalist / humanitarian who has been following the intimidation resulting in the full scale war / invasion since 2015. He reports daily about the life of civilians in the front line of the war without sensationalism. Horrid! Unimaginable! Unspeakable!
My name is Daria. I am founder of the Russian language centre which was active in Melbourne from 2010 until 2019. After 2014 things started to look grim and my beloved mother land was turning into what it used to be 50 years ago faster and faster. I stoped teaching the language. Disappointment in the current regime was one of the main reasons.
Today I am ashamed. I hope my past students will continue to be able to see Russians for more than the evil of one person and his bunch of thugs. My hope is that the invasion sovereign Ukraine will become the catalyst for
a change in power in Russia. There are people in Russia being arrested for peaceful protests. They can’t put everyone to jail. All jails are full already. There are more political prisoners currently than during Stalin’s regime.

I feel ashamed but I will be proactive in helping our Ukrainian sisters and brothers and representing the Russian community that stands in solidarity with Ukraine.

My friend Tristan and I came up with go fund me page idea together together this Tuesday when things started to look more desperate. He is now in Georgia helping Ukrainians to relocate to a safe place which Georgia is (at the moment).
He left WA on a short notice relying on himself and his resources. The need in a safe and fast relocation is much greater than we hoped. If you are not comfortable donating to a random person - think of me. If you were in my classes - you know me.
