We're proud to be supporting National Safe Work Month this October. This year's theme, Safe Work is for Life, reminds us that health and safety protects our wellbeing at work and at home.

Safety is a shared responsibility. Reporting a hazard, using safe work practices, supporting a colleague and looking after our own wellbeing make our services safer for the children and families we welcome.

It may not be a real campfire, but children at our Docklands Kindergarten service have certainly had fun making their own version!

The children turned a cardboard box into a tent, pulled camp chairs into a circle, built a fire pit from logs left over from nearby construction, and made paper flames stand upright. Now they warm their hands, swap stories, toast imaginary marshmallows on cardboard sticks, and bring cardboard from home to keep the project growing.

The fire pit has also brought together children who hadn't spent much time playing together before, with educators stepping back to let the friendships grow in their own way.

It's been a pleasure to welcome Gowrie CEOs from across Australia to Melbourne for the 2026 ECA National Conference. It was great to bring the broader Gowrie community together last night for an evening of networking.

We're also very proud of our team who are presenting their work across the three days of the conference. Lots of research and preparation went into each presentation and it really shows the dedication to their work. Well done!

Yesterday, our Gowrie Broadmeadows Valley service held a morning tea for families, children and educators to acknowledge R U OK? Day.

Everyone was invited to wear yellow to support the awareness of checking in on one another, and what better way to talk about how we are feeling than over a shared meal! The children from each room put together a dish to share in the community room.

Our team promoted the day with supporting prompting questions to further extend the conversation beyond asking R U OK?

It was a pleasure to welcome Minister for Finance, The Hon. Enver Erdogan MP along with Member for Broadmeadows Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP to Gowrie Broadmeadows Valley to meet our team and tour the service including the expansion and outdoor spaces!

As part of the visit, the Minister presented Early Learning Manager Michelle with a Community Achievement Award for her leadership in early childhood education and her support our educators, children, families and community.
