[In Memoriam: Professor Reza Fekre Azad, Advisor, APD-WFLD]

Dear Colleagues,
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our esteemed colleague and respected professor, Dr. Reza Fekre Azad, Advisor, Asian Pacific Committee Member, WFLD, President of IMLA, Secretary General of World Association for Laser Therapy, Head of Laser Research Center in Medical Sciences, AJA University, Iran, who passed away on July 20, 2026.
Professor Fekre Azad was an outstanding clinician, educator, and researcher who made significant contributions to the field of dentistry. Beyond his academic achievements, he was admired for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to mentoring students and supporting colleagues around the world. His wisdom, professionalism, and warm spirit touched the lives of many, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Please feel free to share this notice with colleagues and friends who had the privilege of knowing Professor Fekre Azad.

APDC – HAIDEC 2026, held in Hanoi, Vietnam from May 11–14, 2026, proudly welcomed Prof. Dr. Sajee Sattayut, Director of the APD- WFLd as a distinguished keynote speaker at the conference.
During the event, Prof. Dr. Sajee Sattayut delivered an insightful scientific presentation highlighting the latest advances and clinical applications of laser technologies in dentistry. Her participation brought valuable international perspectives and strengthened academic exchange among experts across the Asia-Pacific region.
The conference also featured presentations from leading Vietnamese researchers, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Thi Thao, contributing to the success and scientific significance of APDC – HAIDEC 2026.
Prof. Dr. Sajee Sattayut’s continuous contributions have also played an important role in promoting the development of dental laser applications within the Vietnamese dental community, inspiring many dentists and researchers to advance modern laser dentistry in Vietnam.

APD–WFLD LASER DENTISTRY CERTIFICATION COURSE 2025

The international APD–WFLD Laser Dentistry Certification Course took place at CMBKK - College of Management Bangkok, Wave Place Building, Phleonchit, Thailand, from November 19–21, 2025. This 3-days intensive program features the WFLD President and APD-WFLD Director, offering comprehensive, standards-compliant knowledge and practical skills in clinical laser dentistry.
The course is organized by the Asia Pacific Division of the World Federation for Laser Dentistry (APD-WFLD), cooperated with Khon Kaen University, Lasers in Dentistry Research Group (LDRG), the Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology. The primary goal is to equip practitioners with the necessary expertise and confidence to utilize laser technology safely and effectively in daily dental practice. The curriculum covers foundational laser physics up to the most advanced clinical applications, supported by the National Research Council of Thailand.
The program includes over 30 hours of intensive learning, combining theoretical lectures with hands-on training sessions using various laser systems. The practical sessions are emphasized to ensure participants successfully transition theoretical knowledge into tangible, practical clinical skills, meeting the rigorous training standards of APD-WFLD.

👉The APD–WFLD Laser Certification Course 2025 marked the long-awaited return of the WFLD Basic Laser Dentistry Course to Thailand after 18 years, featuring a redesigned learning model aligned with LDRG KKU’s mission and strongly supported by the NRCT-funded Hub of Knowledge in Orofacial Laserology.
🌞Over three intensive days, participants from seven countries engaged in academic sessions, clinical training, hands-on practice, and regional collaboration—united not merely for laser training, but to advance evidence-based and safe orofacial laserology.
