It’s a great place to come to work everyday and see our students shine and work with a great community!

💙Happy Australian Primary Principals Day! 💛

Today, we celebrate and thank our Principal, Mr Perry, for his dedication, leadership and commitment to our students, staff, families and the entire Carina State School community.

Every day, Mr Perry encourages our students to achieve their best and helps create a welcoming and inclusive school where everyone can thrive. We are truly grateful for all that he does.

If you see Mr Perry today, be sure to say a big "Thank you!" and let him know how much he is appreciated. 💙

This week we officially started our partnership with Full Spectrum Education with a series of inspiring speakers that spoke about the common theme of believing in yourself.

Our years 3-6 students listened to the following speakers

Brian Kerle- Australian Olympian, former head coach of the Brisbane Bullets and founder of the Brian Kerle Basketball Academy.

Justin Hodges- Former Brisbane Broncos captain, Queensland State of Origin and Australian rugby league player.

Robert Haugh- Physiotherapist supporting patients with a disability, injury recovery and elite athletes.

All speakers engaged with a common theme around believing in yourself, getting back up after failing and never giving up. Our student questions were deep and purposeful with all students being able to relate the speakers experiences to their own lives.

Congratulations to these legends who represented Carina State School at the Creative Generation state schools on show last week. 2 acts across 5 shows and countless rehearsals before this.

Lifelong memories were created, new friendships formed and confidence personified.

Thank you to Trish, Sarah, Katja and Ms Chang for your efforts.

Where every child belongs, learns and thrives.

Starting Prep is an exciting milestone, and choosing the right school is about finding a place where your child feels happy, supported and inspired to learn every day.

At Carina State School, everything we do is built around three key priorities:

💙 A strong sense of belonging, where every child is known, valued and celebrated.
📚 High-quality academic programs, with evidence-based teaching that helps every student achieve their best.
⭐ Engaging learning experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be taking you behind the scenes to share what makes our school such a special place. From our academic programs to specialist lessons, student wellbeing initiatives, play-based learning and the many opportunities available to our students, you’ll discover how we help children grow academically, socially and emotionally.

If you’re considering Prep in 2027, follow our page, explore our upcoming posts and join us next Thursday 23rd July @ 9.30am for a school tour. We can’t wait to show you what makes our school a wonderful place to learn, grow and belong.

This week, our students have proudly celebrated NAIDOC week, taking time to recognise and honour the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Throughout the week, our students have explored First Nations perspectives through stories, videos, artwork and creative learning experiences, deepening their understanding of culture, connection and respect.

We are proud of the thoughtful way our students have embraced these learning opportunities and reflected on what NAIDOC week means for all Australians.

A huge thank you to all of our parents, grandparents and carers who attended today’s Open Classroom Show and Shine session.

Our students were absolutely buzzing with excitement all day as they eagerly awaited the opportunity to share their learning, achievements and growth from the semester. It was wonderful to see the pride on their faces as they showcased their hard work and celebrated their successes with the people who support them most.

Today’s event was a fantastic way to wrap up a big and busy week of activities and special events for our students. Thank you for partnering with us and for taking the time to be part of these important learning moments.

We hope you enjoyed seeing the amazing learning that has taken place this semester as much as our students enjoyed sharing it!
