We were so happy to see so many parents and family members who were able to visit our open classrooms today! They participated with our students in coding BlueBots with Year K-2 students and creating collage poetry in the Year 3-6 classroom. We are very appreciative of the support of Public Education in the Cargo Public School community.

Our students had a wonderful time participating in the Book Character Parade today! It was fantastic to see everyone dressed as their favourite book characters, celebrating a love of reading and creativity. Check out the photos below to see all the amazing costumes from this special event.

Congratulations to Noah and Oscar for competing in the 2026 Premier's Spelling Bee! Last term, they excelled in their classroom spelling competitions, earning well-deserved places in the regional finals. The finals were held online, and both students demonstrated impressive skill and determination in this highly challenging competition.

Our Stage 2 mathematicians have been exploring area and perimeter this week. In this activity, they were calculating the perimeter of irregular 2D shapes. Students learned how to add the lengths of each side to find the total perimeter, even when some values are missing. This skill supports a deeper understanding of measurement and helps students apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations.

We have had exciting return to school this term for our Headstart student! They kept warm with lots of developmental play in our pizza restaurant and finished up by designing their own dream pizza.
