Springwood Kingdom Kids

As part of our Science Week explorations, the children enjoyed experimenting with bicarbonate soda and vinegar. There were lots of excited reactions as they watched the mixture fizz, bubble, and come to life! πŸŒ‹
We completed the experiment twice, making observations and comparing what happened each time. For our second attempt, we added dishwashing liquid and discovered that it created even more foam and a longer-lasting reaction. The children's excitement grew as the bubbles continued to expand and overflow! 🫧πŸ’₯
One of the highlights was watching the children eagerly put their hands into the foamy mixture, exploring the texture and talking about what they could see and feel. There were plenty of squeals, smiles, and scientific discussions as they investigated the reactions together.
What a wonderful hands-on learning experience that encouraged curiosity, observation, and exploration! πŸ”¬πŸ’‘

This week, Stacey's - Independent Learning returned to the Springwood Kindy class for Session 2 of the PALS program, where the children focused on the important skills of taking turns and learning to wait patiently. πŸ’›
After listening to a story together, the children had the opportunity to put these skills into practice through a variety of engaging games. They took turns catching fish and playing pick-up sticks, learning that waiting can be just as important as having a turn.
It was wonderful to see the children encouraging one another, showing patience, and celebrating each other's successes. Through these fun experiences, they continue to build valuable social skills that help them develop positive relationships with others. πŸŽ£πŸŽ‰
We are so proud of the way the children embraced the challenges and demonstrated such great self-control and teamwork throughout the session!

Our centre is lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful and diverse cultures, and we love creating opportunities for our children and families to share their unique heritage with us! 🌏✨

Recently, one of our Kookaburras children had the very special opportunity to share their Scottish heritage with their friends. Their grandmother kindly visited our Kindy to give the children a wonderful demonstration of the bagpipes, a traditional musical instrument deeply connected to Scottish culture. πŸŽΆπŸ’™

The children were fascinated by the unique sound and enjoyed learning more about the instrument, its cultural significance and their friend’s family heritage. It was a wonderful hands-on way to encourage curiosity, respect and appreciation for the different cultures that make up our Kingdom Kids community. πŸ₯°πŸŒˆ

A huge thank you to our wonderful family for sharing such a special part of your culture with us! πŸ’™πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ

πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈβœ¨ Move It Gymnastics has arrived! βœ¨πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ

On Monday, we had our very first Move It Gymnastics lesson with the wonderful Mrs Casey! The children were excited to get moving, learning new poses, jumps and movements while building their confidence and coordination. πŸ’ͺ🌟

We started by learning several fun poses and jumps before taking on an exciting gymnastics circuit! The children practised pencil jumps, star jumps, happy cat pose, front support pose (similar to a plank), forward and backwards balance beam walking, motorbike pose, hopscotch with pencil and star jumps, and even forward rolls! πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘

There were plenty of opportunities to develop balance, body awareness, strength, coordination and gross motor skills while having lots of fun along the way.

To finish our first lesson, we enjoyed a fantastic parachute game, working together to move the parachute and creating lots of smiles and laughter! πŸŒˆπŸ™Œ

What a wonderful first lesson β€” we can't wait to see what Mrs Casey has planned for us next! πŸ’•πŸ€Έ

πŸŒΏπŸ’› A beautiful day at Wirunya! πŸ’›πŸŒΏ

What a special day we had visiting our old friends at Wirunya! πŸ₯°

We began with a walk through the school, stopping along the bridge to look carefully for ducks and fish swimming in the water. πŸ¦†πŸŸ We then settled in at Wirunya to enjoy the beautiful story The Waterhole, before sharing some of our favourite songs together, including Barramundi, Slippery Fish and Open, Shut Them. πŸŽΆπŸ“–

From there, the children joined in a variety of activities led by the children themselves. It was wonderful to watch their creativity shine as they came up with their own ideas, games and ways to connect with one another. 🌈✨

Days like these remind us of the importance of building meaningful connections across generations and creating opportunities for children to learn, share and grow together. πŸ’•πŸŒΏ

We are so grateful to our friends at Wirunya for another beautiful day filled with smiles, connection and plenty of fun! πŸ₯°

Loose parts play was in full use this week as the children took the lead in decorating our mulberry tree. What began as the idea of one child quickly grew into a collaborative project and became the highlight of our day! πŸŒ³πŸ’š

The children sourced their own materials and worked together to transform the tree, demonstrating wonderful curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills along the way. They experimented with different ways to attach items, persevering as they figured out what worked best and sharing their ideas with one another.

It was fantastic to see the children driving their own learning, working collaboratively, and taking pride in the beautiful display they created together. 🌿✨

Our Springwood Kindy children have had a wonderful week exploring the Ekka! After creating their very own Ekkapillar, they continued their learning through a farm sensory tray experience and used digital technology to discover all the exciting sights and sounds of the Ekka. 🚜🌾

To finish off the week, the children were thrilled to receive a Kingdom Kids showbag surprise! 🎁✨

So many smiles, discoveries, and memorable moments made this week extra special!

πŸ†πŸ› EKKApillar Success! πŸ›πŸ†

What an incredible result for our little EKKApillar creators! 🌱✨

A HUGE congratulations to our Platypus children, who took home a very special award for β€œFunniest Caterpillar”! πŸ˜‚πŸ›πŸŽ‰ Their hilarious and creative EKKApillar certainly caught the judges' attention!

And the celebrations don't stop there… 🎊

πŸ‘ Congratulations to our Kookaburra children for taking out SECOND PLACE! πŸ₯ˆπŸ› What an amazing achievement!

Both rooms have put so much creativity, care and excitement into their EKKApillars over the past few weeks. From making them, patiently watching their grass "hair" grow, and finally decorating them for their big Ekka debutβ€”it has been such a fun learning journey! πŸŒ±πŸ’š

We couldn't be prouder of our little artists, gardeners and EKKApillar enthusiasts! πŸ₯°

πŸŒΎπŸ› Congratulations, Platypus & Kookaburras! You are officially EKKA stars! βπŸŽ‘πŸ†

πŸŽͺ✨ EKKA FUN DAY AT CARBROOK! ✨πŸŽͺ

What a fabulous day we had on Wednesday celebrating our annual Ekka Fun Day! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‘

Our little Ekka-goers had an absolute blast taking turns on the jumping castles, getting their faces painted with amazing designs, choosing a balloon sword or puppy, and creating their very own showbags! 🎈🐢🎨

And of course, no Ekka celebration would be complete without a special sausage sizzle for lunch 🌭 followed by a refreshing Zooper Dooper treat in the afternoon! πŸ§β˜€οΈ

There were smiles, laughter and plenty of excitement as we brought a little piece of the Ekka magic to Carbrook! πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸŽͺπŸŽ‘πŸ΄πŸŽ‰

To celebrate Jeans for Genes Day, the children at Springwood Kindy enjoyed decorating a donated pair of jeans with colourful glitter, gems, and lots of creativity!
