Last night, Capertee Public School, in collaboration with our Combined Small Schools Network of schools, hosted a special evening event to honor our Year 6 students. The evening was thoroughly enjoyable, and our school leaders from all schools demonstrated remarkable confidence in leading the proceedings. We are extremely proud of all of you. We extend our gratitude to the exceptional staff for their organizational efforts and to our supportive parents and community members. The evening was a resounding success for everyone. Special acknowledgement to the Wallerawang Community and Sports Club for providing a unique opportunity for our students to experience bowls (thank you, Mrs. Frazer) and for offering a beautiful venue. Thank you to Hampton, Megalong Valley, and Cullen Bullen Public Schools for including Capertee Public School. This year has been wonderful, with great educational and collegial experiences, and our students have built lasting friendships.

Presentation Day 2025. Today we recognised the impressive achievements of our talented students. We express our sincere appreciation to our wonderful families and dignitaries who joined us for our presentation today to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of all our students. We are so grateful for the amazing support of numerous organisations and charities that have partnered with Capertee Public School for many years. The Portland Community Quilters, Energy Australia, Portland Art Purchase Society, Lithgow Lions Club, Lithgow City Council, Kandos Charity Shop and Centennial Coal Airly Mine. Thank you!

Today was truly an amazing day at Capertee Public School; we were joined by four wonderful small schools - Cullen Bullen Public School, Hampton Public School, Megalong Valley Public School, and Glen Alice Public School. Our students had a fantastic opportunity to glaze their pottery beads, which they created at Hampton Public School last term with local potter, Mrs Pauline Welfare. The Questacon Science Circus delivered an incredibly engaging show at 12pm, inventing a musical instrument and demonstrating the principles of push and pull forces. We are grateful to all the wonderful staff who provided lunch and to the staff from all schools who supported all of the students in having a fantastic day. It was a remarkable team effort. A massive thank you to Manon and Kate from Questacon and Mrs Pauline Welfare - you are amazing! We all had the best day! 🎉

Tonight between 10pm and 2am, residents of Capertee may be able to observe the Aurora Australis. It has been a glorious, cool but very clear day in Capertee today, and hopefully you will have an amazing view tonight. Please capture photos and share them with us; it would be an extraordinary experience for our students to witness it. Photo below is a photo from the google pics.

Remembrance Day 2025.

Capertee joined students from Cullen Bullen, Hampton and Megalong Schools for an amazing experience at Camp Yarramundi.
Students (and staff) braved the zip line, and the giant swing, and honed their team building skills in the alpine rescue. Their archery skills were on target and thank goodness they all found their way out of the tunnel mazes.
Everybody had an amazing time.

Thank you for being an awesome team leader Jack and thanks to the staff at Hampton for their organisation.
