EXPLORING THROUGH SENSORY PLAY 🌈

Sensory play gives children the chance to learn by touching, feeling, and discovering. These experiences spark curiosity, support creative thinking, and help develop important problem-solving skills.

As children engage their senses, they also strengthen language abilities, coordination, and concentration—learning how to tune into what matters and filter out distractions.

What may seem like simple play is actually a meaningful part of how children grow and understand their world. 💡

Painting with children significantly enhances their creative development and stimulates their brains. The right side of the brain drives emotional and creative responses, while the left side is dedicated to analytical thinking and logic. When children use their hands or paint with brushes, they actively engage both sides of their brain, fostering a well-rounded cognitive development

We’ve been having a wonderful time exploring our new outdoor environments and using the wide range of equipment. The Outdoor playgrounds at Leaps and Bounds provide the children with the opportunity to develop their whole-body movements. This encompasses activities such as walking up and down stairs, bouncing, climbing, balancing and jumping. Additionally, outdoor play enhances children's spatial awareness, helping them understand their body's position in relation to their surroundings.

We were so fortunate to receive a visit from the policeman. They discussed important safety signs, showcased his equipment, and even allowed us to hold his handcuffs. The children also had the opportunity to explore the police car! The police talked about strangers and safe people and places, and how to get help in an emergency. Thank you for your visit!

The children at Leaps and Bounds preschool have been exploring the colour orange during Harmony week. Colours significantly contribute to a child's development across several important areas, such as sensory awareness, emotional growth, cognitive skills, creativity, and social interactions. By encouraging children to explore and understand colors, we can positively influence their overall growth and support their development into well-rounded individuals.
