Our Street Library is officially OPEN!

What started with a little white cabinet has been transformed by some very creative little hands into something special for our whole community.

Last week, our children added the finishing touches to our brand-new Street Library, filling it with bright colours, handprints and plenty of personality, and now the shelves are stocked and ready to be shared!

Our Street Library is for everyone. Families, neighbours and members of our wider community are invited to stop by, have a look and choose a book to take home and enjoy.

There’s no checking in or out and no due dates. Simply take a book, leave a book, or share a book. If you have a book at home that you’ve finished with and think someone else might love, pop it onto the shelf for its next reader to discover.

We hope that over time these little shelves will see hundreds of stories come and go, connecting people through a shared love of books and reading.

💛 Supporting our local community! 💛

When we heard that one of our local school P&Cs was hosting a fundraising night to raise funds for their Cool School children, it was a no-brainer for us to jump in and show our support with a donation from our Smart Tots community!

We were so happy to contribute a voucher for Colour My Pot - Paint Your Own Pottery Studio

We hope the lucky recipient has an amazing time getting creative and making something special to take home!

We love any opportunity to support the schools, families and organisations within our local community, because being part of a community is about showing up for one another.

What started as a small idea has grown into something pretty special… our very own community garden!

We are so excited to officially open our Queensland Child Protection Week Community Garden!

Throughout the week, we’ve loved watching our garden come to life as our community stopped by to choose a plant, get their hands in the soil and give our new garden a little water and love.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us bring this little dream to life. More than just a garden, we hope it becomes a space that represents connection, belonging and the wonderful things that can grow when a community comes together.

This may be the end of Child Protection Week, but we hope it’s only the beginning of something beautiful that we can continue to nurture, grow and enjoy together for many years to come.

💛 R U OK? Day 💛

Today, we took a moment to recognise R U OK? Day and shared some special biscuits with our families as a little reminder of just how important it is to check in with the people around us. 🍪💛

Life gets busy, but sometimes just a few minutes to stop, connect and ask “Are you OK?” can make a difference.

We encourage all of our families to take a moment today to check in with a friend, family member, colleague or loved one — and remember, you don’t need to be an expert to start a conversation. 💛

Child Protection Week 2026 - Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action

This week, we join communities across Queensland in recognising Child Protection Week, a time to raise awareness and remind ourselves that protecting children is everyone’s business. Together, we all have a role to play in ensuring every child feels safe, heard, valued and supported.

Earlier this year, we submitted an application for a Queensland Child Protection Week grant, and we were absolutely thrilled to learn that our application to create a space for conversation and connection had been successful!

Throughout the week, we’ll be bringing our project to life by creating a beautiful community garden, a welcoming space where our children, families and wider community can connect, contribute and enjoy a sense of belonging.

We warmly invite our community to stop by during the week and help us create this special space at the entrance of our centre. Whether you plant something, lend a helping hand or simply share in the experience, every contribution will help our garden, and our community grow.

Together, we can create a place that reflects the strength of our village and reminds our children that they are surrounded by people who care.

We can’t wait to grow something beautiful with you!

What a beautiful, sun-filled morning we shared on Friday as we celebrated our incredible Dads and special people!

It was so heartwarming to see the children proudly welcoming their loved ones into their daycare world, sharing special activities, laughter and precious moments together.

We feel incredibly grateful to be part of these meaningful moments in the lives of our families. And it’s events like this one that remind us just how lucky we are to be part of the wonderful Smart Tots community.
