Next stop Extravaganza! Lots of dance schools performing on stage, and a treasure trove of dance goodies for sale.

And for those that like to play ‘spot the Suzi’ I’ll be on stage with my Monday class dancers, Sacred Lotus, Empyrean Dance, and Shimmy Mob.

The official photos will be released soon, but here are some happy snaps from the Abbey Medieval Festival. As you can imagine, we can’t be seen holding phones once the public are in so we don’t manage to get many pictures.

I’ll be at the Abbey Medieval Festival with some of Ruby Phoenix Fusion Belly Dance this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (10-12 July.)

Once again we will be reenacting at the Janissary Barracks.

Come to our Turkish/Ottoman dance workshops at 11:30am on Friday, and 1:30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

You’ll also find us dancing before the Turkish Oil Wrestling, and whenever we feel the urge.

We also love to dance with others, come and see us and we’ll show you some moves.

Photos below of us in the parades last year.

Lots of photos just got released by Abbey Medieval Festival, (link in comments if you’d like to check it out.)

These photos are of the parades on Saturday and Sunday morning.

I accidentally deleted my post haha.

I am so proud of my Monday night dancers. Here they are at the annual Midday at the Oasis dance concert. We did a fun pop-shaabi dance, and a dramatic LED wings dance, and they turned the lights off at just the right moment for extra drama!

Thank you to all our friends and family who came to support us and the other dancers. We appreciate you. :)

Midday at the Oasis - Not only did I perform with my Monday night dancers, I also performed with Ruby Phoenix Fusion Belly Dance.

See photos below of the three Ruby Phoenix costumes. (I had five costumes this year.)

You might notice a new face, one dancer in my class is also now a part of Ruby Phoenix!

One stand out memory of this year was with Bollywood Reconnections who had a fun audience participation dance, and I got to dance on stage with my daughter and granddaughter.

Everyone is invited to dance at the end too and we have such a fabulous time that we don’t want it to end, but it must. So now we look forward to next year. See you then!

Term Two has just finished and what a fantastic term it was. We revived the Ranet Kholkhaly choreography by Sara Shrapnell, and worked hard on Moonlight Sonata with our new prop, LED wings. Then we performed those two dances at Renaissance Retirement Village, Victoria Point. Photos as you can see are under wraps at the moment, 😉 we hope to share some official photos soon.

Now we will take a well earned two-week break and start Term Three on Monday 13th July.

Term Three is a ten week term, and it’ll be me teaching the first five weeks, and we will be building a choreography as a collective to the classic, Miserlou. Then I’m going to be away for family stuff, so for the next five weeks the fabulous Xaeda will teach a beautiful fan-veil choreography. 😀

Chart is accurate, plus I teach!

Last call for new day-time classes starting next week. There’s room for one or possibly two more.

If you are interested in Raqs Sharqi, or you’ve got experience but would like to revisit the basics, we can start from wherever you are now in my day-time classes. These classes are small and focused with only two or three dancers per class. The foundation moves will be taught over eight weeks and my best day for availability is Tuesdays. Let me know if you are keen!

A big thank you to those that came along to Belly Dance in the Bush a couple of weeks ago. We had fun learning some foundation moves, and then added the moves to a song to tell a story. There was a bit of time left over to have a bit of fun with veils before we did our cool down. :)
