What an incredible result.

In just one day, the Strathcona community came together to raise more than $200,000 in support of Featherstone Hall.

More than a fundraising milestone, this represents hundreds of people who chose to support the future of our School. Families, alumnae, staff, students and friends who believe in creating opportunities for the next generation of Strathcona girls.

Over the course of Giving Day, seats were named in honour of daughters, families, mentors and lifelong connections to Strathcona. Each one is a lasting reminder of the community that continues to shape our School.

We were grateful to also have alumna Marawa Ibrahim (’99) onsite for the afternoon, running Hula Hoop workshops for all our students, bringing joy and celebration to the day!

To everyone who named a seat, made a gift to the Building Fund, shared the campaign or encouraged others to get involved, thank you.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and proud of what we achieved together.

Together, we are unstoppable.

Today has been a reminder of what makes Strathcona so special.

From the first gift this morning to the final moments of Giving Day 2026, our community has come together with extraordinary generosity. Together, we have raised more than $200,000 worth of seats, helping ensure the story of Featherstone Hall continues for generations to come. Every contribution made today represents a belief in the opportunities, experiences and connections that help shape a Strathcona girl.

Thank you for supporting Featherstone Hall. Thank you for supporting our students. Thank you for believing in what is possible when a community comes together.

From all of us at Strathcona, thank you. Together, we are unstoppable.

While Giving Day may be drawing to a close, our giving page will remain open for those who wish to make a final tax-deductable contribution to the Building Fund or secure a seat in Featherstone Hall.

If you would like to discuss further naming or contributions opportunities please contact Kylie Clements, Development Manager, on 8779 7500 or at [email protected].

115 seats have now been named!

What started as a vision for the next chapter of Featherstone Hall is quickly becoming a reality, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our community.

115 seats have already been secured, with the Strathcona community coming together to leave a lasting mark on a space that has shaped generations of girls.

With additional seats released, there is still time to become part of Featherstone Hall's story, but availability is becoming increasingly limited.

Whether honouring your family’s connection, honouring your daughter, celebrating a year level or supporting the future of the School, every contribution helps create opportunities and experiences for the generations of girls still to come.

All seat purchases and gifts are tax deductible.

We are halfway there!

Thanks to the generosity of our students, families, staff, alumnae and friends, Giving Day 2026 has officially reached 50% of our goal.

Every seat purchased, every row filled, and every contribution to the Building Fund is helping bring the next chapter of Featherstone Hall to life.

What has been most inspiring is seeing our community come together, from year levels and Houses to families, friendship groups, and sporting communities, each leaving their mark on a space that has meant so much to generations of Strathconians.

There is still time to be part of the story, and as a gift to the Building Fund, your contribution is tax deductible.

What legacy will you help create?

Many members of our community know the name Featherstone Hall, but fewer know the story of the woman behind it.

As Headmistress from 1943 to 1953, Miss Dora Featherstone helped shape Strathcona during a period of significant growth and change. A champion of girls' education, she believed in academic excellence, opportunity and creating spaces where students could thrive.

More than seventy years later, her legacy continues to be felt throughout the School and in the hall that proudly bears her name.

As we prepare for Giving Day 2026, discover the remarkable story of the woman whose vision helped shape the Strathcona we know today.

On Giving Day, Wednesday 12 August, we are inviting our community to think beyond a single seat and consider what might be possible together.

Could your year level come together to fill a row? Could your House, a group of families, friends or teammates leave a collective mark on Featherstone Hall?

Through our Name Your Seat campaign, every plaque tells a story. A story of shared experiences, lasting friendships and the connections that continue long after a student leaves Strathcona.

By filling a row together, your group has the opportunity to create a lasting legacy and become part of Featherstone Hall’s future. Whether it’s celebrating a past or current year level, recognising a House, honouring a special connection or acknowledging a shared journey, every row tells a story.

What legacy could your row leave behind?

Register your interest today via our Giving Day website to receive early access on Wednesday 12 August before seat naming opportunities are released more broadly to the community.

Meet our Head of Music, Anna Miller, and Head of Drama, Jesse Sheahan, who share the impact Featherstone Hall has on the lives of Strathcona girls.

For our students, every performance begins long before the audience takes their seat.

It begins with students stepping outside their comfort zones, working together towards a shared goal and discovering what they are capable of along the way.

Through Music and Drama, girls develop confidence, collaboration and resilience. They learn to support one another, take creative risks and find the courage to step forward when it matters most.

As educators, Anna and Jesse witness these moments every day and see the lasting impact they have on students long after the final performance.

This Giving Day, Wednesday 12 August, we invite our community to support the next chapter of Featherstone Hall through our Name Your Seat campaign, ensuring future generations of girls can continue to experience the opportunities, connections and moments that help shape who they become.
