On Friday, 34 Year 5 and 6 students travelled to Bowen to compete in the first ever Interschool Netball Carnival. Students represented Cannonvale State School across the day, competing against Queens Beach State School, Proserpine State School and Bowen State School.
We had a very successful day, with our Year 6 Cannonvale Cyclones (Year 6 Boys team) taking home the winning trophy for the top boys' team! The Cyclones won all four of their games against the Canno Crocs, QBS, QBS Year 6 Boys and Bowen Thunder. The Year 6 boys will go down in history as the first-ever boys' interschool team to win the competition.
Well done to our Year 5 boys, Year 5 girls and Year 6 girls for your great teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the carnival. Well done to all of our students who represented Cannonvale State School!
A massive thank you to Mrs Tulenew, Mr Westley and Miss Thompson for helping train, organise and attend these days with the students.

It was a privilege to welcome Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland, and Professor Graeme Nimmo RFD to our school.
We were proud to showcase our Reef Guardian initiatives, kitchen gardens, bush tucker garden and orchard, with the support of Mrs Moore, our Eco Ambassadors and Garden Club students.

A special congratulations to our School Captains, Emily Callahan and Reef Little, and our Indigenous Leader, Avery Savill, who represented our school so proudly. Avery’s beautiful Acknowledgement of Country was a very special part of the visit.
Thank you also to Mayor Ry Collins for joining us for this memorable occasion.
