Congratulations to Norma on her Metropolitan South and West Directorate Award for Outstanding Community Partnerships.

We love the partnerships that we build with our families and Norma's relationship with CHPS has been exceptional.

For 43 years Norma has been delivering scripture classes to our local community, ensuring she was there every week for our students, rarely missing a week.

It was an absolute pleasure to be there to witness Norma being acknowledged for her dedication to our school community and she was a real celebrity. Everyone was lining up to have their photo taken with the famous Norma from Canley Heights Public School, including Director Educational Leadership for Fairfield - Lisa Porter and Deputy Secretary Public Schools - Deb Summerhayes.

Thank you to all our parents and community members who joined us yesterday for brush and sip in the school hall. Great opportunity for our families to connect and to spend some time enjoying engaging in creative arts. Some very impressive masterpieces at the end as well.

Thank you to the amazing students, staff and community of Canley Heights Public School for making my job so amazing. Was a great way to start the day this morning walking into my office to the surprises that were left waiting for me. Thank you everyone for making Principal's Day so special and for making our school such a fantastic place to learn together.

Today our students are having the chance to get outside in the sunshine and participate in AFL clinics. Great opportunity to find some hidden football talent hiding in our classrooms.

What an awesome cultural experience today, with an engaging and exciting lion dance here at school as part our Public Education Week celebrations. The performers were great and our students (and staff) loved being able to get up close, ensuring they all touched one of the lions for good luck.

Congratulations to Mrs Donaldson and our amazing preschool team that were acknowledged last night at the Public Education Awards. Our preschool was awarded the Secretary's Award for Outstanding School Achievement for the exceptional work our preschool does in supporting our early learners to feel ready for Kindergarten.

As we all head off to holidays this afternoon, we wish our CHPS alumni Tony Popovic (graduating class of 1984) all the best for the Round of 32 match tomorrow morning at 4:00am. Hoping Tony can coach our Socceroos through to the round of 16.
