This week at Majura, we celebrated Wellbeing Day with both our children and our amazing team.

We enjoyed a healthy morning tea, created a calming yoga space for children and educators, and spent time reflecting together on what brings us joy at work. It was a wonderful opportunity to focus on health, wellbeing, mindfulness, and the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.

A positive and healthy team creates a positive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

This day reflects our ongoing commitment to the National Quality Standard, supporting children’s wellbeing, strong relationships, and a positive culture for educators.

🍣 International Sushi Day at Majura Park! 🍣
Today at Majura Park, we celebrated International Sushi Day with a fun and engaging culinary experience for our children and team.

Our children enjoyed participating in a hands-on cooking experience in their rooms, where they helped prepare delicious sushi while exploring new flavours, cultures, and food preparation skills. Experiences like these support children's learning through play, encouraging curiosity, confidence, creativity, and cultural awareness.

A special thank you to our wonderful Chef Jelyn, who prepared a delicious sushi lunch for the team and surprised us with a beautiful Japanese-inspired cake to mark the occasion. 🍰

Through experiences such as this, we foster children's understanding of diversity and inclusion while promoting a sense of belonging and respect for different cultures.

NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORYTIME

Today our children participated in National Simultaneous Storytime, joining schools and libraries across Australia in celebrating the joy of reading and literacy by sharing the same story at the same time.

This year’s story was Luna Roo, and our children absolutely loved being part of this special shared reading experience together. 🦘

This morning in the Atelier, the children were drawn to a beautiful invitation of beads and open-ended materials, sparking curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. As they explored patterns, sequencing, balance, transparency, and colour, rich mathematical and scientific thinking naturally emerged through play.

Their questions and observations showed deep inquiry:
“You can try to balance these, but they will fall off.”
“You can see through some of them, but not all.”
“Where did the colour come from?”

The children eagerly documented their work through photographs, revisiting and extending their ideas together over time.

🚓🐨 A Special Visit from Kenny Koala at Majura Park Child Care! 🐨🚓

This week, we had very special visitor at Majura Park Child Care as Kenny Koala joined us for an engaging and meaningful road safety education session.

Through interactive discussions and hands-on learning experiences, the children explored important road safety concepts including sirens, safety rules, making safe choices when crossing roads, and the importance of staying close to trusted grown-ups while out in the community.

Experiences like these help children build confidence, awareness, and understanding about how to keep themselves safe in everyday situations.
