As part of the Vinnies School Sleepout initiative, senior students at St Clare’s College took part in an overnight experience on campus last night to raise awareness of homelessness in our community. Spending a night outdoors with only minimal comforts challenged students to reflect on the daily realities faced by many Canberrans who do not have access to safe and secure housing.

The experience encouraged empathy, solidarity, and a deeper understanding of the complex causes and impacts of homelessness. It also highlighted the important work of the St Vincent de Paul Society (Vinnies) in supporting vulnerable individuals and families across our community.

A big shoutout to our STCC Staff and Vinnies team for their support, dedication, and effort in delivering this meaningful experience and helping our students gain a greater understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness.

Hey STCC! Can we go thrift shopping?! 👋

St Clare’s Day is just around the corner but we need your help. It’s time to clean out the cupboards and give your loved clothes a second life. Please bring in clean quality clothes to the Heads of House office as we will be having an op shop stall and all proceeds made will go to charity.

Semester 1 Awards Assembly!

We held our Semester 1 House Awards Assembly today in our College Hall. The Awards Assembly recognised students for their outstanding academic performance over Semester 1.

Congratulations to all the students who received an award. The College extends gratitude to our families who were able to join us for this event. It was lovely to be able to celebrate together out on Clare lawn in the sunshine for morning tea.

Celebrating 50 years of NAIDOC Week

On Friday, Catholic Education schools across Canberra gathered to celebrate and attend the 2026 NAIDOC Mass at St Christopher’s Cathedral in Manuka. This special Mass encompasses faith, culture and community, honouring First Nations people and recognising the achievements of First Nations students.

We are incredibly proud to announce that three of our students received awards during the ceremony. Congratulations to:
- Payton (Year 8 Japara) received the Arts Award
- Abigail (Year 10 Wareen) received the Leadership Award
- Amiah (Year 12 Kipara) received the Deadly Encouragement Award

The St Clare’s College Music Ministry students led the community in song at the NAIDOC Mass, enriching the celebration with their beautiful voices. Their commitment to serving the parish and wider Catholic Education community is to be applauded, particularly as many were also involved in the school musical. We congratulate all our students on their outstanding contribution and STCC is beaming with pride at all they have achieved.
