【Scholarship for TASTAFE】TasTAFE is thrilled to be offering international students Destination Australia scholarships for 2020 July commencements!

Destination Australia Scholarships are funded by the Commonwealth Government as part of the Destination Australia Program and aim to attract more International and high performing Australian students looking to undertake education and training opportunities into regional areas, such as Tasmania.

The scholarships are valued at $15,000 and the second round is now open.

ACU announced that the ACU Centre for Languages now accepts Duolingo as a placement test for ELICOS. This can be used as an alternative to the Versant Test, which can also still be used.

🌟 ANU has recently approved the Duolingo language test【DET】as an option for applicants due to commence in Semester 2 2020 who cannot sit an IELTS or TOEFL test.
🌟 ANU will accept indicative results from IB and A-levels as proof of meeting academic requirements.
Students can also submit scanned copies of documents for their application, as long as they are high quality, colour copies.
🌟ANU has released offers for semester 2 round on April 7th, and has also extended Round 3 applications until 18th May.

Financial Support for Internationals Students from the Tasmanian Government

The Tasmanian Government will not turn their back on temporary visa holders in our state.

The Tasmanian Government has announced a package of assistance for temporary and provisional visa holders, such as international students, who have lost their jobs due to the restrictions in place to protect Tasmanians.

This includes:
Pandemic Isolation Assistance Grants for those who can demonstrate genuine financial hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Emergency relief and assistance through partnered non-government organisations
Financial support to return to a student’s country of origin.

Fortrust received latest news from CIT team: I am writing to you today to update our situation here at CIT. As you can imagine, the situation in offering face-to-face courses is proving to be very challenging. We are working as hard as we can at the moment to ensure good health and well-being of your students who are currently studying with us. That is our No.1 priority. The ACT Government announced last week that it will provide a fund valued at more than AUD$25M to be used to help out international students who are in financial difficulty.
