As Customs administrations responds to digital transformation, evolving trade patterns, sustainability pressures and rising expectations around efficiency, security and cooperation, the role of the WCO has never been more important. This conversation with Ricardo will explore how the organization is thinking about the future, where it is focusing its efforts, and what these shifts may mean for customs leaders, practitioners and institutions worldwide.

This webinar will provide a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of the world's most senior customs leaders on the WCO's forward priorities, and on the broader vision for reform and modernization across the international customs landscape.

WEBINAR INVITATION:

"Digital Pre-Arrival Processing: Accelerating Border Clearance through Electronic Data Exchange" - 14 May 2026

UNESCAP, ADB, ICC and WCO are organizing the Webinar on Digital Pre-Arrival Processing: Accelerating Border Clearance Through Electronic Data Exchange on 14 May 2026 at 03:00 p.m. – 04:30 p.m. Bangkok time (UTC+7), 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (CET).

Pre-arrival processing enables authorities to receive, validate, and assess cargo information before goods arrive at the border, thereby potentially significantly reducing the need for paper documents at the border. This directly supports the core objective of the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA) by advancing electronic data exchange and eliminating paper-based processes.

Participants will examine practical implementations of pre-arrival processing systems, including cargo advance declaration requirements, risk management frameworks, and essential trust mechanisms for cross-border interoperability and standardization.

Join the webinar to explore what these trends mean for you. Participation is free. Please register through https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_hpNpvAmtTkqdxHT4uMKTtQ #/registration

More details on the webinar, including the programme and information on registration, can be found at Digital Pre-Arrival Processing: Accelerating Border Clearance Through Electronic Data Exchange
