Junior Moot Comp 2026 Recap! 👨‍⚖️

This week we hosted our junior moot comp with . It was a great contest, and huge congratulations to our first place team, Fuwa and Noah, and our runner ups Arpit and Alex. Both teams did an incredible job!

Thank you to our judges from every round, Umar Kuddus, Ivan Tarlton, Nathan Tetzlaff, and Sophie East, Kathrine Stewart and Judge Thomas (District court justice) for our final. Our comps officers, Tawa, Jun and Katharina did great to pull this off, and we look forward to our junior negotiations comp coming soon!

📢 Junior Moot Competition | Registrations Open!
Looking to build your confidence in advocacy and public speaking while gaining practical legal experience? The Junior Moot Competition is the perfect opportunity to take your first step into the world of mooting.

Designed exclusively for Part I and Part II law students, the competition provides a supportive and fair environment where competitors can develop key legal skills alongside their peers. By limiting eligibility to junior students, participants can compete on a more level playing field without the pressure of facing more experienced senior competitors.

Throughout the competition, you will learn the fundamentals of case analysis, legal research, structuring persuasive arguments, oral advocacy, and courtroom etiquette. Competitors will present arguments before a simulated court and receive valuable feedback from legal practitioners and experienced judges.

Beyond the competition itself, mooting is an excellent way to enhance your CV, demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills to future employers, and show a willingness to engage in opportunities beyond the classroom. Whether you're interested in litigation, commercial law, or simply developing your confidence, the experience gained through mooting is highly valued within the legal profession.

No prior mooting experience is required just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

⚖️ Take the opportunity to challenge yourself, meet fellow law students, and develop skills that will benefit you throughout law school and beyond. We look forward to seeing you in court!

Paper Presentation Comp Recap 🏆

This years paper presentation competition has just wrapped up, and we'd like to thank everyone who put forward their work! All the way from semis to tonights final, insightful, informative presentations were given, but only one could take home first place...

Congrats to our 2026 Paper Presentation Winner, David Kim! His presentation on the duty to rescue won him gold, great job.

All competitors, including finalist Anne Kitt, did a phenomenal job at preparing their independent papers and delivering them before our fantastic judges, with Arabela Boatwright sitting for semis, and Justice Thomas, Deborah Manning, and George Ntor sitting in to judge our final. Thank you to all of our competitors, and our judges throughout all rounds!
