The AUT Law Student Society was established in 2009 to meet the needs of AUT Law students and acts as a link between students and both Faculty and the legal profession. AUTLSS assists students in all aspects of their law degree whether it be acquiring or selling books, holding study workshops, organising sports tournaments and social events such as the Ball and Law Stein.

Junior Negotiations Comp 2026 Recap! 💼

Last night we wrapped up our junior negotiations comp with Chapman Tripp. Our two final teams were Pippa Beck & Elizabeth Verberne, and Cameron Worthington & Amen Thomas, and after this final round of negotiations, we would like to give a big congratulations to Pippa and Elizabeth! Cameron and Amen did a great job in this final round, and we would also like to congratulate them, as well as all other participants, for getting out there to compete as juniors!

Thank you to our judges from every round, Umar Kuddus, Luis De Mattos, Ethan Cleland, and Kiri Petrie, Lauren Petch, and for our finals: Judge C Ryan, Samantha Gregory, and Mila Urlich. The support given by these judges and Chapman Tripp to our students, particularly these juniors, is truly appreciated.

Shoutout to our comps officers, Tawa, Jun and Katharina, with organising this final competition of the year, and for taking these pics!

📚 AUTLSS JUNIOR NEGOTIATION COMPETITION! ⚖️

Ready to put your negotiation skills to the test? The Junior Negotiation Competition is the perfect opportunity to think on your feet, develop your strategy, and practise the real-world skills every lawyer needs.

First time competing? That’s exactly what this competition is for. No prior negotiation experience is required, and you’ll compete in pairs in a supportive environment designed to help junior law students build confidence, gain experience, and challenge themselves outside the lecture theatre. *Competitors must be a Part I or Part II law student; and have not previously progressed beyond the semi-final rounds of any competition.*

AUTLSS Social Event - Paint & Sip!

Join us on Thursday the 20th for our Paint & Sip event! We will have food and drinks provided, as well as painting supplies to activate your creativity. Come to meet new people, hang out with mates, or just for the opportunity to make some beautiful art, generously sponsored by The College of Law New Zealand.
