As part of project-based learning program, Senior Preschool children began their exciting baking journey by making simple cookies together. They were eager to participate in every step of the process. Following the plan they had created earlier, the children worked collaboratively to bake their cookies. Everyone had the opportunity to take turns adding ingredients, measuring, using baking tools, mixing the dough and creating different cookie shapes and patterns.
Once the cookies were baked, the children eagerly tasted their creations. When our ECT teacher Ally asked children how the cookies tasted, they all gave a big thumbs up and shared comments about their baking experience. The children were proud of what they had achieved and enjoyed celebrating the results of their hard work.

🌈 Winter Rainbow
🌧️ Playing outside in autumn, winter, and early spring, each present their own unique opportunities for exploration and learning. Therefore, outdoor play should be embraced in all types of weather, as it is crucial for children’s ongoing development.
❄️ Cold weather play builds resilience, strengthens immune systems, and sharpens motor skills. Braving the chill combats recycled indoor germs, boosts vitamin D from natural light, and encourages active, whole-body problem-solving against seasonal elements

🍁As the part of reconciliation week
🍂Junior preschool children created beautiful artwork using fresh leaves.
🍃Through this activity, they learned the importance of nature in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, how to use natural materials to make art, to respect and learn from First Nations people and learned that we can all walk together with kindness and understanding.
🌿Junior preschool also traced Aboriginal symbols, they develop cultural respect, early literacy and spatial skills, and a deeper appreciation for the environment and First Nations.
🍁Children develop the understanding of the symbols that represent people, animals, landmark and connection to land and nature.
🍃Thank you to Our JPS ECT Sharmila

🦘⚽ Tomorrow, we're joining millions of Australians for National Simultaneous Storytime!
At 12pm AEST on Wednesday 27 May, children across the country will come together to read Luna Roo: the Kangaroo Baller at the very same moment. That's over 2.2 million readers, all sharing one story, all at once.
Written by Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd and illustrated by Jake Minton, Luna Roo is a story about chasing your dreams, backing yourself, and pushing through when things get tough, exactly the kind of message we love sharing with our little ones every day.
Because when children fall in love with stories, something magical happens. They build vocabulary, spark imagination, and develop the foundations they'll carry into school and beyond.
Keep an eye on our page and Storypark tomorrow - we can't wait to share what's happening in our centres! 📖✨
