Congratulations to Kobe Pearce on his selection to attend the Basketball Australia National Indigenous Performance Camp (NIPC) at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Bringing together top Indigenous athletes from across Australia, the NIPC is an important opportunity for athletes progressing through the national high-performance pathway.

We are proud to see Kobe embracing opportunities to compete, learn and develop alongside some of the country's most talented young basketballers.

Last week, our ESA Football students showed that being a great athlete is about much more than what happens on the scoreboard.

On Monday, our Year 10 students worked with others and developed their independence as they stepped up to referee the Year 5/6 Gala Day. It was a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community, support grassroots football and gain first-hand experience of the responsibility that comes with being a game official.

Then on Tuesday, three ESA teams travelled to Sydney to take on fellow Sydney FC academy school, Endeavour Sports High School. Competing against some of the best young talent in the region provided our students with the opportunity to seek challenge, remain determined and test themselves in a high-performance environment.

Match Results
Boys B Team: 2–4 (loss)
Girls: 1–4 (loss)
Boys A Team: 4–3 (win)

Win, lose or draw, our students represented Erindale with determination and pride. These are the experiences that help young athletes grow, both as competitors and as people.

Congratulations to Erindale's own Tim Hawke, who has been named ACT VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year.

This award recognises Tim’s outstanding contribution to VET delivery and the positive outcomes he achieves for our college students. His work supports students to develop independence, seek challenge and reflect on their learning, helping them build skills and confidence for life beyond college.

We are also grateful to Caroline Chisholm School and South Training for the partnerships that make these opportunities possible.

A well-deserved recognition for an outstanding educator.

Erindale College Outdoor Recreation students made the most of the 2026 snow season, taking on the slopes with enthusiasm, persistence and plenty of courage.

Starting with the basics of stance and snowplough turns, students worked their way through stomping, star turns, side stepping, parallel turns and hockey stops. There were plenty of falls, but students got back up and kept having another go.

Day two brought firmer morning snow, challenging students to assess the conditions and make calculated decisions about when skiing was suitable. Once the snow softened, students pushed themselves further by taking on backcountry skiing.

From first turns to parallel skiing, it was fantastic to see students support each other, push their limits and keep improving right through to the final run.

Learning, adventure and a few spectacular tumbles along the way!

Mountain biking is an individual sport, but our Erindale students showed exactly what it means to work with others.

Across every lap of the recent ACT Mountain Biking Interschools College Mixed Category, our riders remained determined, supported their teammates and pushed each other to perform at their best.

Their consistency and commitment paid off, with 1st Place in the Mixed Category and 3rd Place overall.

A fantastic achievement from a group who showed that success is about more than the result. It’s about commitment, teamwork and lifting those around you.

Congratulations, riders and staff. What an effort.

We are proud of the effort our students have put in and encourage them to stay positive, trust themselves and give every exam their best effort.

Good luck to everyone sitting exams this week.

Congratulations to Lauren Fisher and Olivia Beresford on their outstanding umpiring achievements at the recent School Sport Australia Hockey Championships in Melbourne.

Lauren earned the opportunity to umpire the Gold Medal Ladies Match, while Olivia was selected as the Reserve Umpire for the match, which was ultimately decided by a shootout.

This is an incredible opportunity and recognition of the skill, preparation and composure required to umpire hockey at such a demanding level.

Well done, Lauren and Olivia.

💜 Wear It Purple Day 2026 – Colours of Courage 💜
Erindale College proudly celebrated Wear It Purple Day on Friday 28 August, joining communities across Australia in showing support for inclusion, acceptance, diversity and belonging.

This year’s theme, “Colours of Courage,” encouraged our students to have the courage to be themselves and to celebrate the many different identities, backgrounds and experiences that make our school community stronger.

During the lunchtime celebration, students and staff gathered in the E-Knex Courtyard to enjoy a range of activities, including Arts & Crafts, a Wear It Purple Photo Booth, a Wall of Words, purple-themed treats and cake pops, and purple pikelets. Students also had the opportunity to participate in a fun Q&A session, share messages of positivity and connection, and show their support by wearing purple.

A huge thank you to our Youth Workers, BSO, Wellbeing Team, students, staff and volunteers, as well as YWCA Canberra Youth Worker Ell Harrison, for helping make the day such a success.

Most importantly, Wear It Purple Day provided an opportunity for our school community to come together and reinforce an important message: everyone deserves to feel seen, valued, respected and included. 💜
