The Canberra branch of the Society has been actively promoting Italian language and culture continuously for over 60 years.

It has around 300 members and is one of the most active branches of the Society in Australia. Adult and children's classes will resume from February 2026!

Classes will be finalised and enrolments will be opened in January 2026. As always, classes will run subject to enrolment numbers and teacher availability.

Please keep an eye on our website in the new year to ensure you remain up to date with information regarding class enrolments for Term 1.

Italian Cuisine Week

We’re delighted to announce that Gabrielle Quadraccia will be giving a special presentation as part of our celebrations for the Settimana della Cucina Italiana nel Mondo

This year’s theme is “La cucina Italiana tra salute, cultura e innovazione”
"Italian cuisine between health, culture, and innovation."

Gabrielle will speak on the themes of the importance of familiar foods for our wellbeing, how innovations in market offerings affect the way home cooks reinterpret traditions, and the innovative techniques with which prominent chefs elaborate traditional ingredients and recipes to produce new taste and texture sensations.

Language Classes for Adults | Dante Alighieri Society of Canberra We offer nine-week Italian language classes at a range of levels, from beginner through to advanced. Join a small class group of six to twelve other students and work through grammar and vocab exercises with one of our experienced teachers.
