THE EDGE
A new contemporary dance work.
Congratulations Emily McCoy, Yr 12 for smashing her lead role in the recent contemporary Dance Production with The Training Ground - The Edge.
THE EDGE pulls audiences into a razor-sharp world where corporate power meets psychological unravelling. This trail-blazing dance experience exposes the machinery beneath the polished surface — unflinching, intoxicating, thought-provoking.
With a cast of elite dancers from the ACT and surrounding areas, this production showcased the remarkable talent emerging from a rigorous 6-month contemporary dance training program.

Congratulations to Poppy Henderson, Yr 11, who was awarded the Highly Commended Prize in the Senior Category at the 2026 Canberra Museum and Gallery (CMAG) Secondary School Photography Prize.
The 2026 CMAG Secondary School Photography Prize attracted a record 225 photographic entries submitted by 85 students from 20 schools across the ACT and surrounding regions.
Students were invited to create original photographs in response to Maria Fernanda Cardoso's Spiders of Paradise exhibition at CMAG, which combines art, science and nature through large-scale photography and immersive video to reveal the extraordinary colour, beauty and courtship rituals of Australia's tiny Maratus spiders.
Entries were judged on both technical skill and the strength of each student's creative response to the exhibition. The judges looked for photographs that demonstrated compelling imagery, a distinctive personal voice, and thoughtful engagement with the exhibition's themes.
Winning and selected student works are currently featured in a digital exhibition at Canberra Museum and Gallery alongside Spiders of Paradise, on display until 23 August 2026.
As part of the prize, winners have also been invited to participate in an exclusive photography workshop with professional photographer and 2026 CMAG Secondary School Photography Prize judge Ben Kopilow, providing a valuable opportunity to further develop their photographic practice.
Congratulations again to Poppy on this outstanding achievement.
