📚❤️ Giving back to the community, one book at a time!
A huge thank you to our amazing Canberra College students who volunteered their time at the Lifeline Bookfair. Their enthusiasm, hard work, and willingness to support this incredible community event helped make the Bookfair a success.
From sorting books and assisting customers to helping keep everything running smoothly, our students demonstrated the College values of service, teamwork, and community spirit. Volunteering at events like the Lifeline Bookfair not only supports a great cause but also provides valuable opportunities to develop workplace skills and connect with the wider community.
Well done to everyone involved – we are proud of the positive contribution you have made! 👏

Sunday 17 May was IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia).
IDAHOBIT is a global reminder of the ongoing discrimination and challenges faced by LGBTIQA+ communities, both around the world and closer to home. It’s also an opportunity for us to reaffirm our shared commitment to inclusion, respect and belonging across our entire community. Congratulations to our college PRIDE Group for arranging our RAINBOW day 🌈🌈🌈

“Yesterday, 10 of our Year 12 female students from Design Technology, Outdoor Education, and GRACE attended an incredible steak knife making course at Tharwa Valley Forge. Starting with nothing more than a raw piece of steel, the students fired, forged, hammered, ground, sanded, heat treated, laser engraved, and finished their own custom knives completely by hand. In a world so heavily driven by technology and screens, it was refreshing to step away, work with our hands, and learn traditional skills surrounded by nature. The day required strength, resilience, patience, hard work, and dedication, and the girls rose to the challenge brilliantly. Each student walked away with a unique piece they can keep for the rest of their lives, along with memories and skills that will stay with them well beyond the classroom. It was an incredible hands-on learning experience in a beautiful location, and we are so proud of the effort, attitude, and craftsmanship shown by all the girls involved. 🔥🔨👏”

Let's hear it for our brilliant representatives: 👨🔬 Year 11 Team: Vatsal, Sakura, & Keitaro 👩🔬 Year 12 Team: Seraphina, Ann, & Claire
Please join us in congratulating these students in the comments below for their hard work, accuracy, and dedication to science. You did our college proud! 👏💙🔬

CC EARTH Sustainability Group
Sustainable Schools visited Canberra College on Thursday 7 May for a Waste Audit that was eye‑opening, hands‑on (and occasionally a little gross). As bins were emptied and the contents sorted, students quickly realised that our rubbish habits don’t always match our good intentions, especially when it comes to recycling. The experience sparked plenty of curiosity, debate, and “wait… that goes where?” moments. The E.A.R.T.H. Sustainability Club will now be thinking about how we can support our whole school community to improve our waste practices.
