Our Year 7 students are currently demonstrating their understanding of colour theory through Cezanne-inspired fruit studies. Students have been learning to mix colours directly on their paintings and use complementary colour pairs to create shadows, depth and dimension — rather than relying on black.
For their next task, students will put their learning into practice by creating an animal or pet portrait, showcasing their understanding of colour, shading and depth

To finish off Term 3, our music students have been busy practising and developing their skills on their chosen instruments.
Students involved in music are working hard to prepare an ensemble performance for their final assessment of the term. It has been fantastic to see their dedication, teamwork and growing confidence as they bring their pieces together.
We’re looking forward to hearing lots of great music next week!

Thursday 17 September – Late Start
ACT public schools will be operating under minimal supervision from 9:00am–11:00am on Tomorrow, Thursday 17 September. Learning will commence at 11:00am and students directly sign in CREW.
Families who are able to do so may wish to keep students at home until 11:00am.

We understand this may not be possible for all families, and supervision will be provided for students who arrive at school before 11:00am.

Our Year 7 students have been beginning to explore the exciting world of probability in Maths! They have been learning to describe how likely events are to occur, using language such as impossible, unlikely, even chance, likely and certain. Through games and experiments, students are developing their understanding of chance and using probability to make predictions.

Last week, 40 of our students took on the incredible challenge of supporting Kids’ Cancer Project through Write a Book in a Day.
Starting at 8:00am, students were given a concept and had just 12 hours to brainstorm, conceptualise, design, write and illustrate their very own books — completing their stories by 8:00pm!
We are incredibly proud of our students, who not only showed creativity, teamwork and determination, but also raised an amazing $2,589 for this very worthy cause.
What an incredible achievement by all our young authors! A job well done!
