💚MADONNA HOUSE DAY💚
On Tuesday morning, our students were involved in a range of activities within their house groups.
💚 Madonna went to Mass at our beautiful St Joseph's Church.
💛💙 Loreto and Lourdes coloured in some stain glass windows.
❤️ Fatima participated in a variety of team games on the oval.

Last weekend, two teams of Year 5 and 6 students proudly represented St Joseph’s in the RoboCup State Competition.
The competition took place at the University of Canberra with a huge 137 teams and over 400 students from schools around the ACT.

The two teams built and coded 3 robots each to create a performance for a panel of judges. The Year 6 team had a popular “World Cup” theme and the Year 5 team went with a very catchy “Crocodile Hunter” theme.

The teams both demonstrated excellent teamwork, creativity and resilience throughout the competition and we are very proud of how both teams performed. We were also thrilled for the Crocodile Hunter Team who came away with Innovation Award at the end of the day!

To wrap up Book Week in Week 6, our Foundation to Year 2 students, and the ELC, had a visit from amazing local author Rhian Williams. Rhian delighted the students with exciting information about emergency services and beetles. They even got to help name the character in her new book. We can’t wait to find out if she chose one of our names!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads and the special men in our St Joseph's community. We had a wonderful breakfast to celebrate on Friday morning and I am sure we have all been spoiled today!

KIDS IN SPACE
Two groups of Year 5 students have worked extremely hard for over a term to create a design that will resolve a problem in space. Our students have spent a lot of time researching, illustrating, composing and 3D printing, creating some amazing displays that caught the eye of many other students and judges at the showcase today.

A special mention from the head judge was given to St Joseph's Team 2, for their excellent use of teamwork and collaboration to build an incredibly creative solution to space junk.

Well done to everyone involved, and thank you to Mrs Buckley for preparing our students for this special event!
