Online voice lessons Biography : Jennifer McMahon, Hon.BMus. Ed. Jennifer McMahon is an internationally recognized vocalist, pianist, coach, and clinician.
The Hamilton Spectator describes soprano Jennifer McMahon as “stunning, astonishing and a major operatic voice”. Her musical career began in Canada with an honours degree in vocal performance and education at Western University, and expanded into a passion for singing as she pursued her vocal studies with NYC voice coach, Tom Schilling. Since 2000, Jennifer has enjoyed singing professionally in op
eras, in concert with orchestra, in jazz ensembles, and improvisatory collaborations. In addition to performance, Jennifer has a keen interest in exploring the potential of the human voice as a vehicle of wellness, connection, and personal development. Her recent study with renown expressive arts therapist and world music master, Gary Diggins, ignited her professional curiosity into the therapeutic power of group music making. Jennifer now offers group voice classes which explore mindfulness, spontaneity, intuitive listening, breath-work, self-expression and community creation. Furthermore, Jennifer maintains a private vocal studio, and has developed workshops and masterclasses both online and in person, including curriculum development for Hamilton Health Sciences ‘Centre for People Development’. As part of a team of artists and healthcare professionals, (L.E.A.P.), Jennifer developed and facilitated creative workshops designed to address issues of resilience and compassion fatigue in health care staff. Since her move to Australia in 2018, Jennifer is finding her way into the musical network of Canberra. Like all musicians, Jennifer is adapting to the Covid-19 world and is really looking forward to making music for live audiences once again.
