Our children had a blast racing alongside their friends and educators in a fun sack race challenge! Lots of jumping, balancing, cheering and giggles while building gross motor skills, coordination and confidence. 💪😄

💛 Buzzing Into Learning — Our Little Bees in Action! 💛🐝
Our younger children have been continuing to extend their interest in bees and insects through a beautiful series of connected learning experiences. 🌼✨
From spotting bees in the environment and talking about where they live, to exploring insect books and joining in with our “Bumble Bee” humming and action songs, the children have been building their knowledge through music, movement, stories and real-world observations. 🎶📚🔍
To take the learning even further, the children helped transform plain white fabric shirts into their very own bee costumes! Using yellow and black paint, little hands explored the colours, patterns and stripes of a bee while engaging in a wonderfully messy sensory art experience. 🎨🖐️
Once complete, the shirts became part of the children’s imaginative play — allowing them to dress up as bees, buzz, move and act out their growing understanding of these fascinating little creatures. 🐝💫
This ongoing inquiry has supported sensory exploration, language development, creativity, fine and gross motor skills, scientific curiosity and imaginative play, while giving children multiple ways to revisit and deepen their learning. 🌿
We love watching an interest grow from a simple bee sighting into songs, stories, investigations, art and dramatic play. 💛

🐛🪲 Crawling, Wriggling & Wondering — Our Bug Inquiry Continues! 🐞🌿
Our ongoing inquiry-based learning about bugs and insects has continued to grow across both our younger and older age groups, with children engaging in experiences suited to their stage of development, interests and curiosity. ✨
During our special in-house incursion, children had the opportunity to pretend to be bugs, using their bodies to crawl, wriggle, flutter and move in different ways. Our younger children especially enjoyed the sensory and movement elements, while older children extended their thinking through conversations, observations and questions about how bugs move, where they live and what makes them different. 🐛🦋🪲
The children also explored felt bugs and other hands-on resources, before taking the learning outdoors to search for real insects and tiny creatures in our natural environment. 🌿🔍 These discoveries sparked excitement across all age groups and encouraged children to look closely, compare what they found and connect their outdoor observations with their ongoing classroom learning.
This experience supported scientific thinking, sensory exploration, language development, gross motor skills, observation, curiosity and respect for living things. 💚
We love seeing an inquiry develop across different age groups, with each child participating in their own meaningful way and building new understanding through play, movement, nature and discovery. 🌟

🦷✨ Healthy Smiles Start Early! ✨🍎
Our children enjoyed a special dental health incursion today, filled with fun and engaging learning about how to keep our teeth strong, clean and healthy. 😁🪥
Through interactive discussions and demonstrations, the children explored why brushing is important, how often we should brush, which foods help keep our teeth healthy, and how sugary foods and drinks can affect our teeth. 🍓🥕🥛
The experience also encouraged conversations about healthy eating choices, good dental hygiene routines and visiting the dentist, helping children build confidence and positive habits around caring for their teeth from an early age.
It was wonderful to see the children asking questions, sharing their own experiences and becoming excited about looking after their smiles. 💙

🫐🧁 Little Hands, Berry Big Learning! 🍓💜
Our younger children had a beautiful hands-on experience making mixed berry cupcakes, helping to scoop, pour, stir and mix the ingredients together. Before baking, the children also had the opportunity to taste the fresh berries, exploring their different colours, textures and flavours. 😋🍓🫐
This simple cooking experience became a wonderful opportunity for sensory exploration, early maths, language development, fine motor skills and turn-taking, while encouraging children to become curious and confident around fresh foods. 🥣✨
From tasting the berries to watching the mixture come together, every step was filled with discovery, excitement and plenty of little smiles. 💕

🐶💛 Learning to Live Safely with Dogs! 💛🐶
Our children recently took part in a special in-house incursion with ACT Government Domestic Animal Services, exploring the Living Safely with Dogs educational program. 🐾✨
Through engaging discussions, demonstrations and age-appropriate learning, the children explored how to approach dogs safely, understand when a dog may need space, ask permission before patting, and interact calmly and respectfully around animals.
This valuable experience supported children to build confidence, safety awareness, empathy and responsible behaviours when encountering dogs in the community. It also encouraged wonderful conversations about caring for animals, recognising boundaries and making safe choices. 🐕🤝
We love creating meaningful learning opportunities that connect children with the wider community while developing practical skills they can use in everyday life. 🌟

💛♻️ Little Learners, Big Hearts! ♻️💛
Inspired by our Senior Preschoolers’ recent community donation experience, our Junior Preschoolers were eager to follow in their footsteps and make a special visit to Vinnies too. 🥰
The children helped gather and donate a collection of office supplies, soft toys, clothing and other useful items, learning that things we no longer need can be given a new purpose and help someone else in our community. 🧸👕📚✨
This meaningful experience opened up beautiful conversations about kindness, generosity, sustainability and caring for others. It was also wonderful to see our younger children learning from and being inspired by their older peers — a lovely example of how children can influence and encourage one another. 🌱🤝
Experiences like this help children understand that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. 💕

🧄🥖 From fresh garlic cloves to delicious homemade garlic bread!
Our little chefs rolled up their sleeves and got busy making garlic bread completely from scratch. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
The children carefully peeled fresh garlic cloves, explored the smell and texture, measured and mixed ingredients, kneaded the dough, and helped prepare their very own garlic bread. ✨
This hands-on cooking experience supported fine motor development, sensory exploration, early maths, language, independence and confidence, while also giving children a wonderful opportunity to learn where food comes from and how simple ingredients can transform into something delicious. 💛
The best part? Enjoying the warm, freshly made garlic bread together! 😋
