The Monaro grassland earless dragon (Tympanocryptus osbornei) is one of Australia’s rarest reptiles. It’s habitat has been severely impacted by overgrazing, ploughing and building activities.
The last Dragon is a beautiful children’s book written by Charles Massy, a Cooma-based landholder implementing ecological grazing practices. The book is sensitively illustrated by Mandy Foot.
Well worth reading, this book presents a sensitive interpretation of a small dragons’ search for others of its kind - and is suitable for children aged from 6-10 years.
