❓When do road traffic rule violations become part of the culture?

New research published in the Australasian College of Road Safety - Journal of Road Safety (Volume 37, Issue 3) examines how everyday driving behaviours can become normalised and increase road safety risks.

Key findings:
✅ Risky behaviours such as driving the wrong way and ignoring traffic signals were described as routine by some participants.
✅ Thrill-seeking, limited road rule knowledge and weak enforcement all contributed to these behaviours.
✅ Stronger enforcement, driver education and public awareness are needed to help change road user behaviour.
