Disco Volunteers Needed – Friday 18 September
Dear Parents and Carers

Our Community Council is seeking parent volunteers to help make this year’s School Disco a fun and successful event for all students.

Volunteers are needed to assist with:
Student check-in
Water station supervision
Chip and popper collection
Pack up and clearing the hall

Volunteer shifts:
Shift 1: 4.15pm – 6.15pm
Shift 2: 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Or both shifts

Last week we had the pleasure of meeting Peter Carnavas, children's book author and illustrator from Brisbane. Students in years two, three and four were shown how to draw a simple character step by step, enabling each student to produce their own with additional details. Peter showed them how he develops his ideas by drawing and writing ideas in a sketchbook before producing the first draft. He also showed them how to be positive about making changes to the story when the editor has asked for over 1000!
The students loved watching him draw and paint characters from his latest book, inspiring many young hearts and minds.
Should you be asked to buy your child a harmonica, that's Peter's influence too!

Charlie and Holly attended the skipping Australia Tri-States competition in Sydney this past weekend. Holly placed in five team events, and Charlie came in second place for her individual freestyle. This was a huge accomplishment since it was her first ever competition.

They have both qualified for Nationals in Darwin at the end of September 😊

Pegasus and Phoenix competed at the CheerCon NSW State Championships, and both teams delivered fantastic performances. Every athlete shone bright, and the results gave us plenty to celebrate. We could not be prouder!
· Pegasus placed 2nd and State Champions in the Primary Novice division
· Phoenix placed 3rd and State Champions in the Primary Level 1 division

Congratulations, Pegasus and Phoenix, on an amazing day—we are so proud of you all!

Of course, the day was about much more than placings and medals. It was filled with energy, excitement and plenty of team spirit. The athletes had a fantastic time cheering each other on, soaking up the competition atmosphere and proudly wearing their sparkly competition uniforms. It was fun and rewarding!

We are now in the running for the Newcombe medal to be announced in Melbourne later this year.
