The University club is a club of Toastmasters International that meets at the Australian National University. The purpose of the club is to provide a fun and supportive place where people can practise all types of public speaking. While the group meets on campus and is a great place for staff and students to mingle outside their discipline, almost half the members are not affiliated with the ANU. The University Club was founded on the 12th of October 1982 and was so popular that the daughter club, University II, was formed approximately 18 months later with the sponsorship of the University Club.
