Last Monday the choir walked to visit our friends at Warrigal Nursing Home in Calwell.
It was wonderful to see the smiles on their faces and to hear them singing along with us.

This week students at St Francis were read 'Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller' by Adam Jackson, Adrian Lloyd and Jake A Minton. This book was the book chosen for National Simultaneous Storytime this year. This is an event in which schools and libraries across Australia read the same book, on the same day, promoting reading for fun. All classes enjoyed listening to this story and completing fun activities in the classroom and library related to soccer, Australian animals and finding your inner strength. Some activities included jersey design, soccer-ball paper-chipping, soccer graffiti bench, flick soccer with ping pong balls and jumping Luna Roos!

On Wednesday, our Year 2 students enjoyed an engaging excursion to the National Museum, where they participated in the Then and Now program. Throughout the session, students explored how life in Australia has changed over the past 100 years by closely examining and handling a variety of objects.
Guided by a museum educator, students compared items from the past and present, discussing how everyday life at home has evolved over time. They learnt about the importance of collections and how objects can help us remember stories and understand history. The hands-on experience encouraged thoughtful discussion about continuity and change, as well as how museums preserve and share these stories.
It was a wonderful opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the past while making meaningful connections to their own lives today.

What a fantastic day our Year 5/6 students had at the Netball Gala Day! 🏐
They played heaps of netball, showed great teamwork, and most importantly had so much fun with their friends in the beautiful weather.
A huge thank you to all of our amazing parents and staff who gave their time to coach, umpire, or even do both! Your support makes such a difference, and events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful volunteers.
We’re so proud of all our students and incredibly grateful for our community!

Thank you Mr Jonathon Turkich from ACT Policing for teaching Kindergarten how to stay safe in our community and sharing how police help protect us every day.
The children loved exploring the police uniform, special equipment and getting a close look at the police car. The bright and loud sirens were definitely a highlight!
