🚨 CHAIR STRIKE! 🚨

After one too many rocking and swinging incidents, our Year 4 chairs have officially had enough and gone on strike! 🪑✊

Only a very convincing argument from our Year 4 students might convince them to return to their usual duties… 😅

This week our Year 5 students were inspired by a visit from Sean Avery!

Sean shared his creative process, demonstrating how he creates unique and memorable characters, as well as guiding students through a step by step drawing session featuring characters from his most popular books! It was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their creativity, illustration skills and gain insight into the world of children’s literature.

A big thank you to Sean Avery for an engaging and inspiring visit for our Year 5 Students!

On Monday, Sean E. Avery presented an engaging workshop for Year 2, Year 3 and Year 5 students. He read several of his books, complete with voices and sound effects, and showed students how to draw some of his characters. His presentations had students and teachers laughing throughout and has inspired many budding authors and illustrators to create stories and illustrations of their own.

💛 R U OK? Day at SFA 💛

🌟This Friday 11 September, we're asking everyone at SFA to add a splash of yellow to their uniform as we celebrate R U OK? Day.
It's a great reminder that checking in on one another doesn't need to be complicated. Sometimes a simple "R U OK?" can make all the difference.
Let's paint SFA yellow and show our commitment to kindness, connection, and looking out for each other. 💛

📚 Book Week Parade Reminder - Tomorrow! 📚

Good afternoon Parents and Carers,

We are very excited for our Book Week Parade tomorrow and can't wait to see all of the wonderful costumes on display!

A reminder that the parade will commence at 9:15am. With the beautiful weather forecast, we have decided to hold the parade outside on the hardtop, providing plenty of space for students to sit comfortably and for families and visitors to enjoy watching each class showcase their amazing costumes.

Families are warmly welcome to attend and celebrate Book Week with us.

We would also like to remind everyone that photos must not be taken during the parade. This is to ensure we respect the privacy and confidentiality of all students. If you would like photos of your child in costume, please take them before the parade begins.

We look forward to seeing you there for a fun and memorable Book Week celebration!

Today our Year 1 students had a fantastic day exploring the National Museum of Australia as part of their HASS learning!

Building on their Past and Present unit, students explored Aboriginal culture, history and stories, making connections between the past and the world we live in today. 🌏🖤💛❤️

It was wonderful to see our students engaging with history in such a meaningful and hands-on way, asking questions, sharing their thinking and making new discoveries along the way!

What a wonderful opportunity to learn, explore and connect with Australia’s rich history. 💫

A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at the National Museum of Australia for sharing their knowledge and making history come alive, and to our amazing parent volunteers for giving up their time to help make the excursion such a success. We couldn't have done it without you!”
