Teatime for Mummy! ☕😊

Our little chefs were busy in the outdoor kitchen this week, using tanbark and natural treasures to create special cups of tea for Mummy. There were plenty of secret ingredients added—extra crunchy tanbark, a sprinkle of leaves, and even a few sticks for stirring! The children proudly served their creations, making sure every cup was "delicious." We think some of these recipes might just give the fanciest cafés a run for their money! ☕🌿🍂💚

At McKellar Cottage, the pretend bus is always full of busy little passengers ready for their next adventure! The children love taking turns being drivers, passengers, and ticket inspectors as they use their imaginations to travel all around the world. Through dramatic play, children build communication, social skills, teamwork, and confidence — all while making plenty of “beep beep” noises along the way. Move over bus drivers… McKellar Cottage is coming through! 🚐🚐

At McKellar Cottage, hand painting is a colorful adventure full of creativity, laughter, and very messy little hands! The children love exploring different colours, textures, and patterns while using their hands to create unique masterpieces. These experiences encourage self-expression, sensory exploration, fine motor development, and imagination — while also testing just how much paint can somehow end up on faces, arms, and sometimes even shoes!

At McKellar Cottage, cup and letter stacking activities are always a wonderful mix of learning, concentration, and laughter. The children love balancing, building, and carefully stacking cups while exploring letters, sounds, and early literacy skills along the way. These hands-on experiences help develop fine motor skills, problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, and letter recognition — although sometimes the biggest excitement comes when the tower comes crashing down in spectacular fashion 😁😁
