Today our Junior Site Year 1 students enjoyed a visit to Blundells Cottage, where they explored how life has changed over time. Students learned about daily life in the past, including how families cooked their meals using traditional methods and the challenges people faced without many of the modern conveniences we have today.
After their historical journey, students enjoyed spending time at Boundless Playground, where they had fun exploring the playground, playing with friends, and making the most of the wonderful outdoor space. It was a fantastic day of learning, discovery, and play.

Yesterday, Gold Creek School staff participated in a Professional Learning session that took us beyond our traditional meeting space and into the natural environment of Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary for a Walk on Country.
This experience provided a valuable opportunity for staff to come together as one team, connect with the local landscape, and engage in meaningful collective learning. Sharing this experience in such a significant setting encouraged reflection, strengthened connections, and inspired deeper conversations that we can bring back into our daily practice and classrooms.
We look forward to continuing our learning together later at the Woolshed.

We are incredibly proud of our Junior Site students who represented Gold Creek School at the IB Festival of Hope on 5 June.
The students joined peers from other IB schools across the ACT to share their ideas, discuss global challenges, and explore ways to create positive change in the world. Their enthusiasm, thoughtful contributions, and leadership were a credit to our school community. Well done, everyone!

Thank You, Gold Creek School P&C
A huge thank you to our wonderful Gold Creek School P&C for generously purchasing new PBL tokens for Junior Site classes.
These tokens are handed out to students who demonstrate our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) values and help us recognise the many positive choices our students make each day.
We greatly appreciate the ongoing support of our P&C and their commitment to enhancing the educational experience of our students. Their generosity helps us continue to celebrate and encourage respectful, responsible, safe, and engaged learners across our school community.
Thank you for helping us recognise and reward positive behaviour at Gold Creek School!

Today our Year 4 students enjoyed a fantastic excursion to Parliament House, where they learned about how laws are made and how the Australian Federal Government works.
Students explored the building, discovered the roles and responsibilities of government representatives, and gained a deeper understanding of Australia's democratic processes through engaging and interactive experiences.
A special highlight of the day was seeing Shawn the Prawn from the book they are currently reading, helping to bring their classroom learning to life in a fun and memorable way.
It was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect their learning with the real world and gain a greater appreciation of how decisions are made for our country.
